Notes on the Margin & Additional Points on P.E.M.

Here is a very relevant article on the MSM and blacking out stories:

Ex-NY Times journalists: We fumbled Watergate tip
By JENNIFER PELTZ

NEW YORK (AP) — The reporter rushed up to his editor, thunderstruck by what the FBI’s acting director had just let him know: The former attorney general — maybe even the president — was complicit in the Watergate break-in two months before.
But The New York Times let the hot tip fall through the cracks, the reporter and editor say after decades of silence about the August 1972 conversation. They say it’s unclear whether the Times pursued information that might have let it beat The Washington Post to the blockbuster story of political espionage, which was described in “All the President’s Men” and helped unravel Richard M. Nixon’s presidency.

You can read the rest of this story by clicking here.

Did it really ‘fall through the cracks’? That’s the real question. Isn’t it amazing how we get to hear these revelations only after the sources are ‘long-dead’ and the involved reporters and editors are ‘long-gone’? Let’s see…on this one it took almost four decades to find out. Let’s work on not letting this happen, at least not easily, today. Let’s get ‘living sources’ on the record and expose ‘current culprits’ while the stories and cases matter.

What’s Coming Next?

Hopefully by Wednesday morning I will post the first report/case for
Project Expose MSM. It will be interesting! I hope I will have your support when the MSM attacks start coming this way…

I am still working on Part 3 of ‘Dissecting the MSM’ series. As you can see I keep getting side-tracked by all sorts of related ideas.

Project Expose MSM: Additional Points

I also want to provide a few additional points in regard to my recent announcement,
Project Expose MSM‘.

  • This project is ‘experimental.’ Time and our efforts will show its success or effectiveness.

  • Remember this is a project run on a personal blog by only ‘me,’ thus, there is only a limited amount of time and resources available. I cannot respond to all e-mails. I cannot review and evaluate all reports. I can only select a few cases based on importance, priority, credibility, and relevance. Then, I have to vet the reports and contact the target reporter/publication for comment/response.

  • I tried to emphasize it in the announcement, but I’ll do it again: We have to be fair & balanced. Where credit is due it will be given. When possible good journalists will be recognized and praised.

  • Please do not ‘abuse’ the e-mail link provided in project announcement. The e-mail is ONLY for those with specific and supported MSM case/report. It is not for your comments; this is a blog and if you have a comment you can post it under the comment section of each post.

I am sure more points will pop up as we go, and periodically I will come back with additional points and clarification. Now let’s work on this project, get the word out via dissemination, and participate by commenting.

Thank You All

Besides getting the word out on worthy unreported MSM stories perhaps something needs to be discussed about how to convince reporters to become actual journalists and not just political toadies.

Doing so takes courage, talent and experience as evinced by Seymour Hersh and Sibel.

Follow the rules of good journalism and be protective of the story by:
    - checking your sources while protecting them
    - confirming your story independently
    - maintaining copies of your story and source materials in multiple safe & secure places before you release the story to your editor and the public
    - having a backup plan on releasing the story should you be a target and unable to publish
    - determine who you can trust over time and develop that relationship… "trust but verify."

I'm sure there are many more… any journalists out there who want to chime in?

What we need are translators – like the FBI and CIA have – who can publish the truth in foreign online newspapers, and then have them re-translated back into English, so that the whistleblower sources are not tortured or falsely criminally charged, such as what happened to me and such as you were gagged.

Call it counter-counter-intelligence where we publish the US Government un-disinformation.

Thank you, Sibel, for bringing this group together and bringing the Light to the darkness that has shrouded this country (and the world) for so many years.

You are greatly loved and appreciated.

I eagerly await the stories of all whistle blowers. It is so important that these so very important stories be brought forth to the world. The real news must be reported. There must be accountability! Those responsible must be brought to trail for their crimes against humanity!

A huge THANK YOU to Sibel and all the whistle blowers! I am with all of you every step of the way.

IMHOTEP: good suggestions. I will have a few independent journalist (who used to work for the MSM) as guests in near future. Meanwhile, let’s make an example of the ‘bad apples’ identified. We can help put them under the spotlight: which each confirmed/credible report disseminate, post ‘n other sites, and Digg to make it a ‘read’ story…First one is coming up very very soon;-)

Kauwila, Charles, Lightsedge: Welcome, thank you, and hope to have you here regularly. We are going to need all your support/help to shine light where needed, where MSM won’t go.

Not only is the msm not reporting and distorting the news but so called "liberal" blogs all over the net are shutting down open discussion of issues. There is a large group of us that were just "purged" from opednews. Why? Simply because we do not support Obama and the democrats. We think both parties are corrupt and we are not represented in congress except for a very small minority.

We therefore have started our own blog just days ago comprised of like minded people and may I say, a damn good bunch of writers and artists. All of whom are huge admirers of Sibel. In fact, this blog is linked to our site. If you'd like to join us go to: http://cotocrew.wordpress.com/ We are looking for those who are tired of the status quo and want real change.

Sibel we'd be more than honored if you'd pay us a visit as well :)

Jersey Girl: Good for U. I checked out the site quickly. Although I must say I am sad to see Rob (Op-ed News)there. He's been very supporive and nice. But again, that's been my own personal experience…

gopol: Interesting. I can tell you one thing with certainty: Saberi was/is indeed CIA
    asset.'

    jersey girl Says:

Thanks Sibel :) Some are just so entrenched in party politics that they can't see that neither party works for the people. That both are beholden to their corporate gods. Being stuck in the left/right paradigm can leave you quite blind to the truth.

    gopol Says:

Sibel, You wrote, “Saberi was/is indeed CIA asset.” Yes, if I recall your bio properly, you also grew up in Persia? And you work for intelligence services for a time? Forgive me if this is incorrect – I’m kinda going on memory…which is not always so good. I’d be interested in knowing how you know about Saberi, if you can say. If you can’t say, that’s ok, I’m just curious. NPR was so adamant about getting her out that it seems most obvious she was an agent. NPR has proven they don’t give a fig for honest journalists – thought Zwerdling is still on the payroll (after having been let go once) and out with a story dissing Monsanto this am! They throw the occasional chum to progressives, since, hell – if progressives stop listening to NPR, how will they propagandize?

Thanks for your addition gopol with the npr check. I noticed the difference in npr a few years back and quit listening. I can’t remember when it hit me about them.

For what it’s worth, I’ve been an admirer of your work, Sibel, for several years now, and I’m hoping that you/we will finally be able to make some progress against the increasingly centralized and single minded control of the means by which we build national consensus.

In response to “jersey girl”‘s comment about liberal blogs, I decided it was probably time to speak up and mention that I run a wiki dedicated to the exploration of any and all controversial issues. It’s called Issuepedia, and so far I have been able to keep it open to anonymous editing — counterpoints and reasonable discussion/debate are encouraged.

Some relevant pages: Sibel Edmonds, mainstream media, media consolidation… I have been running it since 2005, but my time is very limited and I’m not able to cover a lot of the areas that I’d like to.

Comments, criticisms, suggestions, questions etc. from anyone are welcome. I would also encourage “jersey girl” to post (or send me) examples of discussions being shut down in liberal blogs, as that seems worth investigating.

We all must demand the truth one way or another! The time is NOW for truth and those of us who have been working in the Light for so long have your back. We are holding the Light for you, my friend, as you Walk Through the Valley of the Shadows…The shadows will not be here much longer. You can count on it! Kudos on all you do…

This is always a good site to look at for unreported news:

The 25 Most Underreported Stories For 2009

The other thing I learned growing up in the 1960's is to read the Saturday Morning edition of the major newspapers. The stories the Power Elite want buried are always released late Friday night after everybody leaves for the weekend and before the Sunday talk shows have a chance to react since they're always looking at the total Week's news. This way they're covered minimally if at all.

Of course, this all made me think about Mark Klein's affadavit again and the government's assertion that they were ONLY looking at communications LEAVING or ENTERING the country. What makes thsi argument so specious is the following. If the NSA's sole goal was to monitor such traffic, they could do it much cheaper and far more effectively by putting their secret rooms at the transoceanic fiber terminal offices such as the Transpac Cable terminus in Los Osos, near Morro Bay, Ca. Instead they installed them in every major metro central office in the US. Hmmm.
