Thank you for this great post, Bill.

Our move to a new hosting company (and a dedicated server!!): Done! We were getting so frustrated with Blue Host-very slow.

Also, now that I am back we’ll have our nightly news (starting tonight with a brief one).

I’ll have more updates soon. Thank you for your patience during the site mow. I see my ‘site move notice’ disappeared (during transition), and a few other comments got lost, and Xicha’s comments were placed under hold (our spam control is set to withold/stop comments with multiple links) … BUT, we are back to normal (whatever that is;-)

That’s good news. And thanks for letting us know about the spam control. I thought maybe you were trying to calm me down or something ;) Too bad about losing some, but it’s nice to know we got an upgrade. Good work!

And, yes, good post Bill. One patriotic quote, from a recent podcast, comes to mind:

“You’ve got to challenge the psy-op!”

For me Patriotism comes down to the support and advocacy of the Rule of Law. As one who really CAN trace his ancestry back to the Mayflower, I have a 391-year history in this land and nowhere else to go if it goes down. As ourrights are not just eroded, but abrogated while the powerful break laws with impunity, I come back to this clip from “A Man for All Seasons”, Give the Devil Benefit of Law.

I give the Devil benefit of law for my OWN safety’s sake.

Thanks for clip, Ishmael. That’s one of the favorite movies of a good friend of mine, a person with significant experience with law and financial markets.

And re: selective application of the law, well, that’s one of the ways the rule of law is undermined in one of its most important roles. In theory, law is a check on tyranny, but in practice, increasingly, law has become a tool of tyranny.

I enjoyed the quotes and guessing the authors, thanks! Two of the individuals I had never heard of. But you really threw me a curve when you showed a picture of Bertrand Russell below the quote from G.B. Shaw. That’s not fair!

Sibel, I think we just found that site editor.

My humblest apologies, especially to my Irish ancestors. Will fix shortly.
