Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – “Ohio” (1970) Kent State University

Neil Young wrote and composed “Ohio” after seeing a picture of the Kent State University shootings of May 4, 1970. He performed it with his band mates David Crosby, Steven Stills and Graham Young. Crosby, Stills Nash and Young aka CSN&Y received critical acclaim for standing up to the Nixon Administration with their song. It was banned from some AM radio stations because of the challenge to the Nixon Administration in the lyrics. The video has some heavy duty photos from that incredibly painful day for America.
So not much in the way of “Soothing the Beast” this week but it’s an important song even to this day…Enjoy…DJPJ.

The authors have nothing to do with CSN&Y’s song not sure of the point.

There really isn’t a point other than to note the irony… Particularly if the allegations are true that Ayers and Dorhn played a role in launching Barack Obama’s political career. That may not be common knowledge, though it is widely suspected on the right side of the body politic…
