Soft Lipa- “Ain’t So Easy”
We’ve covered a lot of styles of music here at the BFP/Jamiol Soothing the Beast. We have yet to present any hip hop/rap. While there are a few rap artists I do like, a lot of it registers in my older brain as harsh, loud and repetitive. So this week at BFP/Jamiol Soothing the Beast music pick is hip hop with some jazz undertones.
Soft Lipa, a Taiwanese underground rapper, is big in the Mandarin-speaking hip hop community both in Taiwan and in Mainland China. He is known for his unique style of rapping over jazz music with hip hop beats. He is a very fluid rapper and the Mandarin language he chooses to rap in has an inherent flowing quality. His song tonight is the jazzy hip hop Ain’t So Easy…Enjoy…DJPJ
