Empire, Power, and People with Andrew Gavin Marshall- Episode 54

Introduction to the Drone Wars

EPPFlying killer robots in the skies, operated out of a base in Florida, kill thousands of innocent people in countries all over the world. It sounds like science fiction, but unfortunately, this is a reality in places like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, and even the Philippines. It began under Bush, but accelerated rapidly under President Obama, with over 300 drone strikes in Pakistan over the last four years alone. The program is highly secretive, in violation of international law, and targets rescuers, funerals, and families, destroying communities and destabilizing entire regions. This episode is an introduction to the drone wars; a most modern form of international terrorism.
