The following headline news was reported by Guardian-UK on Friday, and has been picked up and circulated by other mainstream and alternatives alike since:
West training Syrian rebels in Jordan
Western training of Syrian rebels is under way in Jordan in an effort to strengthen secular elements in the opposition as a bulwark against Islamic extremism, and to begin building security forces to maintain order in the event of Bashar al-Assad's fall.
Jordanian security sources say the training effort is led by the US, but involves British and French instructors.
According to European and Jordanian sources the western training in Jordan has been going on since last year and is focused on senior Syrian army officers who defected.
Is this an accurate report? Is it right and credible? Yes- most definitely. However, what is being reported and marketed as breaking news and headline-worthy is as stale as a 15-month old moldy loaf of bread. How do I know that? Boiling Frogs Post broke that story 15 months ago. Together with James Corbett we broke and covered that story as the only news source for it while being ignored and in some cases attacked by the mainstream and pseudo-alternatives.
Let’s set the record straight on what we reported 15 months ago, and have us question the reason, or reasons, why the mainstream and their quasi-offshoots kept a lid on it for this long. Here is our first report on December 11, 2011:
Foreign Troops Begin to Spread Near the Villages of Al-Mafraq
According to first-hand accounts and reports provided to Boiling Frogs Post by several sources in Jordan, during the last few hours foreign military groups, estimated at hundreds of individuals, began to spread near the villages of the north-Jordan city of “Al-Mafraq”, which is adjacent to the Jordanian and Syrian border.
According to one Jordanian military officer who asked to remain anonymous, hundreds of soldiers who speak languages other than Arabic were seen during the past two days in those areas moving back and forth in military vehicles between the King Hussein Air Base of al-Mafraq (10 km from the Syrian border), and the vicinity of Jordanian villages adjacent to the Syrian border, such as village Albaej (5 km from the border), the area around the dam of Sarhan, the villages of Zubaydiah and al-Nahdah adjacent to the Syrian border.
Another report received from our source in Amman identified an additional US-NATO Command Center in “al-Houshah,’ a village near Mafraq.

Our partner James Corbett had further coverage through a video report published by Boiling Frogs Post in December 2011 as well:
And here is our further coverage on the case with a follow up interview with RT (the only news outlet that picked up the story), including my full-length RT interview:
All right; I think we have concretely established the so-called breaking story as 15-months old and stale. Now what we have to do is question the reasons, motives and agenda for the censorship of this story (which lasted 15 months) as much as the reasons and motivation behind its exposure today. And this is exactly what we want you, our readers and irate minority members to do: critical thinking and questioning when it comes to the propaganda machine called ‘media’ today.
* It is hard being a true and independent alternative information source, but it is also rewarding, because we are expanding our core irate minority members and supporters. Without your support this truth-channel site would not exist. We are thankful to every single one of you.
