I have never seen anything wrong with the label “conspiracy theorists” nor do I see what the big deal is with Edward Snowdon’s revelation. We have been hearing for years about NSA sucking up all electronic communication data from all Americans; his revelation merely gives more details and a name to what we have assumed to be the case. But this time, this online activist “Operation Troll the NSA” is a great idea! http://trollthensa.com/ and http://intellihub.com/2013/06/11/activists-launch-operation-troll-the-nsa-for-june-12-2013/. For once we can do something about it. However, the idea is flawed in this respect. The NSA would have already entered the key-word laden “script” into their computer so that their system will automatically filter out our “script campaign”. I suggest that we devise a more sophisticated campaign: we must all at once embed the NSA “trigger words” in randomly devised messages so that the NSA cannot program their computer to filter out a fixed script beforehand. We must all at once write a personalized message to each other filled with “trigger words”, and we must run the campaign regularly. That’s the only way to disrupt NSA’s system. Do you see what I mean?

Thanks. I’m a relatively new “conspiracy theorist.” Haven’t heard of the wireless mesh internet you mentioned, so googled (hmm…) about it, and came across http://sha.ddih.org/2011/11/26/why-wireless-mesh-networks-wont-save-us-from-censorship/ from someone stating much experience in setting this up and giving technical reasons for questioning its effectiveness in larger scales, then perhaps optimistically suggesting ways to change the system of “censorship” (not really addressing surveillance and privacy).

The system is “rotten” but which will naturally resist and fight back any attempts to change it. The wireless mesh network internet seems to be the approach of building alternative “wholesome” communities that then need to choose how much to build away from the awareness of the current powers in order to avoid being attacked as a threatening example of a viable alternative, and how much to openly question and attempt to change the current power structure. I have admired this website as an example of the latter, but maybe you are actually or also looking more to recruit/rescue for the former. Which I find motivating.
