NEWSBUD- Reviving Ethical Investigative Journalism with Bill Conroy, Peter B. Collins & Sibel Edmonds

How and Why Mainstream & Pseudo-Alternative Media Funders and Their Puppetry Editors Kill Stories that Matter

Welcome to our second podcast episode, announcing our new media project- NEWSBUD.COM. In this podcast episode Peter B. Collins, investigative journalist extraordinaire Bill Conroy and I discuss the importance of agenda-free and independent investigative journalism, how the current media funders and puppetry editors censor and kill stories that matter, and the urgency to make Newsbud- 100% independent & People Funded, a reality. Bill Conroy will be leading the investigative reporting at Newsbud, and he has more than 20 years of experience covering the drug war, corruption in government and law enforcement, and national security matters.

Conroy talks about his work with Gary Webb, the Pulitzer winner who exposed the 1980’s CIA cocaine pipeline in the San Jose Mercury News and was viciously attacked by critics in government and media competitors. Conroy describes his own challenges in getting his hard-hitting stories published, as his employers knuckled under to pressure from advertisers and political figures. He makes the case for public funding of Newsbud, to insure against interference and censorship. For everyone who has been dreaming of a major independent media platform that’s free from corporate advertisements, partisan agendas, and a dependency on the ultra-rich, that dream is about to become a reality.

Newsbud’s pre-launch website will be live soon at Newsbud.com. Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 14, Valentine’s Day, when we will launch our Kickstarter campaign with a live-streaming telethon!

*We are asking those of you who support this one-of-a-kind media project to come and join us. Please add yourself, and your voice, to our group list here. They have rendered we the people irrelevant. Together we are going to make them irrelevant!

Great Sybil, Peter and Bill !!!! Thx for your work and integrity !!! This is sooooo great !!!!! THX !!!!!!!

  2. Very strong point about self-interest. If you’re in the jungle and there’s a predator lurking in the bushes it would be very foolish to pretend it isn’t there. Would be ones last mistake as well. Likewise it is our self-interest to know about our present society, who’s running things and what are they up to and so on. This human jungle of ours. How can we possibly act appropriately without knowledge and understanding? Knowledge about what celebrity said what ain’t gonna contribute jack for ones decision making. So if anything, you’re in the role of tour-guide Bill, pointing out the snakes. scorpions and hyenas. And I for one want to know!. 🙂

  3. Gary Binmore says:

Great to see Bill Conroy here. One of the very best. Should have got a Pulitzer for his “House of Death” series.

This is new and just opening up for me. I enjoy being pointed toward new resources of information, especially when integrity is at play. So I’m grateful for Bill Conroy’s website and look forward to reading part two of the Egyptian article, and the rest.

  4. I’ll second that emotion: great to have Bill Conroy involved. This is turning out to be The Avengers of journalism!

Sibel and the rest of the Newsbud team. I wish you luck with this superb venture. I’m already a supporter of Boiling Frogs Post and thoroughly enjoy the analysis and thought that’s already available on Boiling Frogs, but Newsbud will be what is truly needed. A place for REAL discussion and investigative reporting. I’m 100% in, and truly wish you all the best for the coming year, and the future.

  6. Andrei Tudor says:

Sibel, have you thought about trying to bring Daniel Hopsicker into this?
