<img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/908_BFein.png" alt="bfein" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">Last month, on August 23, Bruce Fein </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/175892/ron-paul-campaign-welcomes-constitutional-law-heavyweight-bruce-fein-as-senior-advisor"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">became</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> Ron Paul’s Chief Legal Advisor. In other words, Ron Paul became Bruce Fein’s Client. I’ve written extensively on this issue. Today I just want to list here some of Bruce Fein’s clients, and then ask you to consider and define the situation in terms of ‘interests.’ Here are a few </span><a href="http://deadlinelive.info/2011/09/01/the-greatest-plot-against-the-ron-paul-camp-to-date-by-sibel-edmonds/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">well-known clients</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> of Mr. Bruce Fein as exhibited by his lobbying firm:</span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">A Few Foreign Nation Clients</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Saudi Arabia</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Pakistan</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Turkey</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Sudan</span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">A Few Clients from the Banking &amp; Fed Megas Pool</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Bank of America</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Morgan Stanley</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Standard Charter Bank</span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Oil Industry </span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Exxon Mobile</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">BP</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Chevron Texaco</span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Military Industrial Complex</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Boeing</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">General Electric</span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">International-Imperialistic- Parasitic Organizations</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">World Bank</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">IMF</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">United Nations</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">You see, there exists no conflict of interest among these Fein clients. When it comes to imperialistic and exploitative operations, the target puppet nations, the greedy oil and military industrial complex players, and the corrupt-criminal mega banking industry work hand-in-hand. Are you with me so far?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">On the other hand, last time I checked Ron Paul challenged the Fed &amp; the corrupt mega bankers. Last time I heard, Ron Paul unequivocally was voicing his disdain for US led international and imperialistic institutions such as the World Bank and IMF. Last time I looked, Ron Paul was on the ‘<em>no-no list</em>’ for the Military Industrial Complex lobby. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Now Ron Paul is Bruce Fein’s client. The above predators are also Bruce Fein’s clients. So what are we talking about here?</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Arial;">A Gigantic Conflict of Interest?</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: Arial;">Compatible Interests?</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">If you think it is neither, which one of these clients’ interest comes first? Let me give it a bit of perspective with one example:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">The Turkish clients paid Bruce Fein $500,000 in less than two years for him to represent their interests. How much is the Ron Paul campaign willing to pay Bruce Fein in order to surpass Turkey’s  client value to Fein? How much must th Paul campaign pay Bruce Fein for its interests to be put before those of Saudi Arabia, all those mega banks, MIC…? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">These questions are yours to answer, and you may want to ask Bruce Fein directly. On September 12, Monday, at 12:30, Bruce Fein will be at Busboys &amp; Poets (2021 14<sup>th</sup> Street NW, Washington, DC 20009).  Please let me know what answers you find. </span></p>

<h3><strong><span style="font-family: Arial;">Final: The Facts, Bruce Fein, Ron Paul, and the Next Step</span></strong></h3>
<p></center></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/905_day7.png" alt="day7" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">Today is Day 7 on the campaign to raise awareness and alert re Bruce Fein, the </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/30/the-greatest-plot-against-the-ron-paul-camp-to-date/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">greatest threat</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> to the Ron Paul Camp to date. It may be my last one depending on the public response and feedback we receive from the already active and vigilant ‘true’ Paul supporters. I am going to start with one last response to Bruce-Mattie Fein agents who have hijacked several websites to deflect attention from the facts and the real issues. If you go and read the propaganda </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/176801/the-greatest-plot-against-the-ron-paul-camp-to-date-who-really-is-this-bruce-fein"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">written</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> by the Feins’ agents you’ll see why I refer to them as ‘<em>agents</em>.’ Either due to certain omega fatty acid deficiencies or natural genetic misfortune, these guys slip and make clear their close associations with both Bruce and Mattie Fein. Now, allow me to provide you with a concrete rebuttal to some of this misinformation that is being spread and planted by Feins’ agents:</span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">“So what if he is representing foreign agents, foreign governments or foreign groups. He is an attorney after all, and it is his job to represent these people?”</span></em></strong></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/905_fein.png" alt="fein" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">Last time I checked attorneys represented their clients in courts. Last time I checked legal cases were not brought by attorneys before the CIA. Last time I checked lawyers did not argue their clients’ cases before State Department operatives. And last time I checked legal representation did not extend to going to Congress, wining and dining representatives, and funneling money into their pockets. Did I miss something when I checked all this last time?! Because </span><a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20090306221855/http:/thelichfieldgroup.com/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">this is what Bruce Fein writes and markets</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> about the services he provides for foreign agenda clients, and if you read you hardly, if ever, come across any mention of legal-attorney representation:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-size: small;">“The Lichfield Group features unrivalled government, media, and business experience. Exemplary is the Group’s high level connections with the Department of Justice, <strong>the Department of State</strong>, and <strong>the Central Intelligence Agency</strong>, on the one hand, to The New York Times, The Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal, and nationwide broadcast or cable networks on the other.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Whether a client is a giant corporation handcuffed by ill-conceived United States government policies or a <strong>foreign government anxious to influence the decisions of Congress, the President, agencies</strong>, the judiciary, or State governments, The Lichfield Group is armed with the skills and contacts indispensable for success.”</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Just to show my generosity and kindness towards the IQ-challenged Fein agents I am going to recap: Bruce Fein is a foreign agent-lobbyist and that has nothing to do with ‘legal representation.’ He represents foreign agendas before the CIA, the State Department, the Congress, and the White House… Courts ain’t got nothing to do with this in-name-only ‘attorney.’ Where did you guys ever hear of cases being brought before the despicable Central Intelligence Agency-CIA?! What exactly are this Bruce Fein’s ties and close connections to the CIA and State Department he keeps bragging about?!</span><span id="more-6211"></span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">“Bruce Fein is a fine attorney. Regardless of his shady foreign ties and businesses, as the Chief Legal Advisor to Ron Paul Campaign he is bringing his highly regarded attorney expertise and services!”</span></em></strong></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/905_schmidt.png" alt="schmidt" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">As I am writing this piece, as has been the </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/24/rep-jean-schmidt-found-guilty-of-accepting-500000-in-%e2%80%98indirect%e2%80%99-turkish-lobby-payment/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">case</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> since the </span><a href="http://issuu.com/communitypress/docs/schmidtreportwithattachments"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">ruling issued</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> by the Congressional Ethics Committee, there is a fine group of legal experts who are working on getting the Bar Association to investigate and hopefully suspend Mr. Fein’s attorney license. This is a gigantic public scandal, not an </span><a href="http://www.armtown.com/news/en/trt/20110808/160975/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">allegation</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, people:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">“In a statement released on August 5, the House Ethics Committee ruled that Rep Jean Schmidt has received multiple improper gifts totaling $500,000 from the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) between 2008 and 2010. The Committee ruled that Schmidt must pay the money back, However, she will not face sanctions by the House as she was able to pin the blame for her behavior on her attorneys Bruce Fein and David Saltzman.”</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">After investigating the case, the Ethics Committee says it was Bruce Fein who intentionally misled his client Rep. Schmidt and funneled half a million dollars of foreign lobby money to the Congresswoman. As I stated </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/30/the-greatest-plot-against-the-ron-paul-camp-to-date/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">before</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, there are only two possible scenarios here: </span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">His two possible explanations for this case would be: 1- I did not tell my client that my legal representation of her case was part of foreign lobby money funneling to her; 2- My client was fully aware of the foreign lobby bribery nature of my legal representation and services, but to protect her and my foreign bosses I took the blame. Under either explanation one glaring point remains clear, and that is the lack of ethics on behalf of the involved attorney-Bruce Fein.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Feins’ agents are out there trying to persuade the Paul Camp to ‘forget Fein’s foreign lobbyist status and businesses’;  that ‘you’ve got a darn good attorney as your chief legal advisor.’ It is not any of my ‘<em>allegations</em>’ they are countering here; it is the official findings by the House Ethics Committee. How is it going to look for Ron Paul and his supporters if and when it is announced that Bruce Fein is being barred from legal practice due to unethical practices as an attorney?! Who is going to defend Ron Paul for picking <em>this kind</em> of an attorney for <em>this kind</em> of high-official position?! What will the public say? The presidential candidate who picked a crusty foreign lobbyist and a barred attorney as his chief legal advisor?!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I did not have to invent Bruce Fein’s Foreign Lobbyist status. It is in Mr. Fein’s resume and his past and present practices, showcased by him right </span><a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20090306221855/http:/thelichfieldgroup.com/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">here</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">. Mr. Fein’s intimate associations with the CIA, the State Department and the White House are not based on any allegations; it is in his </span><a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20090306221855/http:/thelichfieldgroup.com/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">resume</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> as written by him. Mr. Fein’s position and membership in the Neocon Nest AEI is a fact that is highlighted and used by him when needed. The ruling on Mr. Fein’s foreign lobby money funneling scheme is not some rumor; it is in an official congressional </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/24/rep-jean-schmidt-found-guilty-of-accepting-500000-in-%e2%80%98indirect%e2%80%99-turkish-lobby-payment/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">report</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">And finally, it is very hard for me to believe that the propaganda, misinformation and personal attacks on me recently could possibly be coming from any ‘<em>true</em>’ Ron Paul supporter. We are talking about libertarians, and libertarian-leaning people who refuse to stop the critical thinking process and readily summit to any authority. Take a look at the following propaganda example from the </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/176801/the-greatest-plot-against-the-ron-paul-camp-to-date-who-really-is-this-bruce-fein"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Daily Paul website</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, and tell me if this jibes with the Paul Camp motto:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-size: small;"><em>“I&#8217;m all for questioning things, but in the context of a presidential campaign, our leader is Ron Paul. His decision is to keep Fein. Back him up, despite your opinions.”</em>- Road Runner on Wed, 08/31/2011 &#8211; 13:40.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Since when do Ron Paul people advocate for a monarchy-kingdom where followers must follow their king/leader blindly without question? This is disgusting. A disgrace to any libertarian minded person! Here is another one:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-size: small;"><em>“An adviser may not be central in the campaign, and could be there to simply &#8220;bolster the appearance of the management team&#8221;, just like they do with company investment portfolios. It even might be for the purpose of gaining some acceptance from neocons by having the AEI adviser, even though RP is not neocon oriented and might not even take any advice from him. In the end, I have to consider RP to be capable of making these decisions. He is experienced and may have some reasons and knowledge that we do not see.” </em>- Big T Wed, 08/31/2011 &#8211; 12:25.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">What are these people saying? It is totally okay if Ron Paul hired this guy in order to expand his base to include neocons?!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Okay, I am not going to waste my time with mind-boggling quotes attacking me personally, advocating a dictatorship style following, planting misinformation, and most importantly attributing all that to Ron Paul supporters. Instead, here is my message to all in the ‘true’ Paul Grassroots network:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">It is okay to think highly of Bruce Fein’s speeches-writings on State Secrets Privilege and some First Amendment related topics. I’ve read some of those, and I happen to like the content. Fein has been in and around the Paul Camp, giving speeches and interviews since 2008. I had no problem with that. Have the man, pay the man, to write and publish articles. That’s fine. But do NOT let this man inside as a strategically positioned insider. Do not let this man become Ron Paul’s Chief Legal Advisor. A crusty foreign lobbyist, an unethical attorney involved in money-laundering-funneling for foreign agents, a CIA-State Department Insider, a known AEI Neocon, a covert Israel supporter, a man who has been playing all sides-from the ACLU to AEI to Turkey to Pakistan to Israel to Ron Paul…Well, that kind of man has NO place in the Ron Paul campaign as an insider, and has no place with Ron Paul. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I believe I have said and done my part for now. I have been in this particular fight for way too long. Causes to fight for have not decreased but increased. I believed this to be one of those causes worth fighting for, including taking vicious attacks and insults from Paul imposters. However, the decision is now yours to make and the next step is yours to take. In the end, it all boils down to sincerity and principle. Please let me know, and until then.</span></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><em>“Whether a client is a giant corporation handcuffed by ill-conceived United States government policies or a foreign government anxious to influence the decisions of Congress, the President, agencies, the judiciary, or State governments, The Lichfield Group is armed with the skills and contacts indispensable for success.”-</em><strong>Bruce Fein on his ‘recently erased’ Lobbying Firm </strong><strong>the Lichfield Group</strong></span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/902_Paul.png" alt="902Paul" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">The internal discussions over the recent ‘Fein’ selection continue inside the Paul camp. Loyal and vigilant Paul supporters have been doing their part. And a few Fein publicists and friends have been hard at work planting misinformation, propaganda and false accusations on the net right and left. I guess this is a positive indicator &#8211; we have Fein and his publicists nervous. When false fronts get nervous they tend to expose themselves even further. And that’s good.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Fein publicists and propaganda planters have been  mainly targeting Ron Paul related </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/176986/siebel-edmons-warns-of-paul-campaign-plot-nix-bruce-fein-quickly"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">sites and forums</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, and attacking everyone who even dares to question Bruce Fein’s highly questionable businesses and associations. For example: they claim Fein worked for AEI in 1981, and then left. Fein’s bio contradicts this. AEI contradicts this. Even Fein’s business advertisement geared towards his foreign governments contradicts this!</span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.aei.org/basicPages/20060815142912626"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Here</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> is what AEI says about their dear Fein, ‘<em>Mr. Fein has been an adjunct scholar at AEI,</em>’ and says this as of today, September 2, 2011.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">When you look at Bruce Fein’s biographical information listed and promoted by him at his ‘very recently erased’ </span><a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20090306221855/http:/thelichfieldgroup.com/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">company website</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, you see this: “<em>Mr. Fein has been an adjunct scholar with the American Enterprise Institute.”</em></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Another interesting development: the Feins have been trying very hard to delete-erase their various companies’ websites and past information. Nervous Bruce and Mattie Fein quickly ran and got rid of their business website for ‘the Lichfield Group’, trying very hard to erase information on their actual businesses. However, as many of you know, nowadays it is very hard to get rid of past online information, and here is what we </span><a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20090306221855/http:/thelichfieldgroup.com/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">retrieved</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> on Fein’s relationships and ongoing work as advertised at his company website and brochures seeking additional lobbying positions:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-size: small;">The Lichfield Group features unrivalled government, media, and business experience. Exemplary is the Group’s high level connections with the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and <strong>the Central Intelligence Agency</strong>, on the one hand, to The New York Times, The Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal, and nationwide broadcast or cable networks on the other.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Whether a client is a giant corporation handcuffed by ill-conceived United States government policies or a foreign government anxious to influence the decisions of Congress, the President, agencies, the judiciary, or State governments, The Lichfield Group is armed with the skills and contacts indispensable for success.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">As you can see the Fein couple is not selling good ole boring attorney appeal here. They say they are close to the CIA and State Department and Congress, and willing to influence them for foreign entities if the right dollar amount is paid. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Also, it is very interesting to see how twisting and misrepresenting facts in a not very ethical manner, apparently a ‘Fein’  trademark, shows itself in his representation of his marital status! The Fein publicists, since my article exposing the couple’s ‘Israel Lobby’ agenda,  have begun </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/176986/siebel-edmons-warns-of-paul-campaign-plot-nix-bruce-fein-quickly"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">advertising</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> the Feins as divorced, and concluding that ‘<em>so Mattie Fein’s activities and associations do not in any way apply to Bruce; they are divorce</em>d!’ I did check my facts, and I did talk with credible sources: They did file for divorce a few years back, but with all sorts of business partnerships and strategic benefits in politics at stake they changed their mind, and nullified their filings. They are legally married. They are business partners. They have businesses together, and Fein has been his wife’s supporter in every single meaning of the word ‘<em>support</em>.’ </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I am not going to waste my time, and your time, countering every single bit of false information, accusation and propaganda that is going to be planted by Fein’s publicists. I believe those with a positive agenda who want to see this great threat to the Paul Camp gone are informed and vigilant enough to counter these recent false information planting </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/176986/siebel-edmons-warns-of-paul-campaign-plot-nix-bruce-fein-quickly"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">operations</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> on their own. As you can see, Fein is very nervously busy trying to erase his past; so are his publicists. Instead, I want to remind you that today is Day 4 of our countdown to remove Mr. Fein, the greatest ‘<em>insider</em>’ </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/30/the-greatest-plot-against-the-ron-paul-camp-to-date/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">threat</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> to the Paul campaign to date, and we are counting down.</span></p>

<h3><strong><span style="font-family: Arial;">A Shark to Swim with Among other Sharks? Or, a Fox in the Henhouse?</span></strong></h3>
<p></center><br />
<img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/901_fox.png" alt="fox" />
<p><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">We are on Day Three and still no conclusive word from the Ron Paul campaign. I have received hundreds of e-mails and comments from objective and vigilant Paul supporters who are equally alarmed and troubled by Mr. Fein’s recently granted inside position. I have also received a few e-mails from Paul supporters who are trying very hard to justify this new troublesome addition. I want to quote from two such e-mails and respond to both:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">‘<em>Ron Paul is out in a sea full of sharks. He needs ruthless sharks like Bruce Fein to survive the other sharks. I think it is a good move and I don’t like people like you second guessing it</em>.’</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">And here is another comment:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">‘<em>This was a brilliant and well-calculated strategic move by Paul. In order to expand his base and movement he needs to bring on board people like Fein. Would it be bad if we gain the support of some of those neocons? Would it be bad to have ACLU liberals or Jewish communities stop attacking Paul, and join him instead because of Fein. I think this was a wise choice by Ron Paul. The mainstream media loves Bruce Fein and he knows how to play and please the media…</em>’</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Please take a moment and reflect on these comments and this line of thinking. Have we heard this before? I believe we have. For many decades we have justified moves and actions like this by our candidates of choice instead of drawing the lines where they should be drawn. Because where would you draw the line? Why not try to recruit Karl Rove and bring him on board to lead Paul’s campaign press office? Why not hire Bill Kristol to bring in heavy weight neocons? Why not get a manager or two from AIPAC or JINSA to convert the pro Israel lobby Zionist voters? Why not?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Isn’t this the same ‘<em>the end justifies the means</em>’ mentality we’ve been fighting against? Isn’t this what we justifiably accuse the establishment of doing? Isn’t this a solid example of hypocrisy? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I remember the days when Obama supporters were assuring each other of their candidate having to have to make a few pacts with a few devils in order to win, and once he won he was going to boot them all out and make his supporters’ dreams come true. I recall how the Obama apologists were justifying Rahm Emmanuel’s appointment, and after him Gates, and after him Dennis Ross, and after him…until they began to lose count. Oh, I remember, don’t you?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">What I am saying is this: One of the greatest strengths and appeal of the Ron Paul movement has been its grassroots quality, straight-forward approach, uncompromising attitude towards the compromised, and most importantly, steering clear of shady-corrupt-infested traps no matter the outer appeal or glitz. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Bruce Fein, the foreign lobbyist for several nations and foreign groups, the AEI nest’s neocon tenant, the reported compromiser of legal ethics …does not belong in the Ron Paul Camp. It’s time for the Paul Camp to draw the line on ‘Fein,’ and keep it there. Don’t let those <em>lines</em> get blurry and eventually disappear altogether. This is ‘<strong>Day Three</strong>’ in our countdown to remove Mr.

Some attribute that to Mattie Fein’s desperate need and her fierce competition with Harman over Israel lobby dollars. Here is Mattie’s response to the test question by the Zionist community: </span></p>
<blockquote><p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">7. Would you support Israel taking military action to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons? Under what circumstances?</span></em></strong><em><br />

<h3><span style="font-family: Arial;"><strong>Who ‘Really’ Is this Bruce Fein? </strong><strong> </strong></span></h3>
<p></center><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><em>&#8220;A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.&#8221;</em> <strong>- Marcus Tullius Cicero</strong></span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_Fein.png" alt="fein" /><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Last week, right after publishing my </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/24/rep-jean-schmidt-found-guilty-of-accepting-500000-in-%e2%80%98indirect%e2%80%99-turkish-lobby-payment/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">article</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> on Congresswoman Schmidt and Bruce Fein’s brilliant foreign lobby money rechanneling-laundering scheme, and to my shock, I found out about </span><a href="http://www.dailypaul.com/175892/ron-paul-campaign-welcomes-constitutional-law-heavyweight-bruce-fein-as-senior-advisor"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">this</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-size: small;">The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that constitutional and international law expert Bruce Fein will join the campaign as senior advisor on legal matters.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-size: small;">“Bruce Fein’s participation adds to our campaign’s already intellectual heft, enabling us to more broadly engage the conversation about constitutionality, civil liberties and the dangers to national security of an increasingly interventionist foreign policy,” said Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">While some at Rep. Paul’s Camp were busy celebrating and cheering the announcement as a brilliant strategic move, I was frantically gathering cases and research notes, corresponding with current and former colleagues from the intelligence community who had come to support Rep. Paul, and communicating with a few friends with Rep. Paul’s Campaign who were equally troubled by this development. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I understand the ‘<em>cheering</em>’ side of Paul’s camp as they have been excited and impressed by the in- writing-and-words-only side of Bruce Fein. Not so different than those who were fired up and sold on the in-words-only rhetoric and promises staged by President Obama. The Constitutional Scholar Fein and the Constitutional Expert Obama. A Great Penman Fein and the Great Orator Obama…and of course the contradicting realities and the contradicting facts.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">However, in this case, there are already too many established facts and too much history on Mr. Fein, and way too many rational and realistic people among Paul supporters to ring the alarm bells and counter this great threat before it’s too late. I will go as far as calling the penetration of the Ron Paul camp by Bruce Fein ‘<em>the greatest threat to Paul’s camp to date</em>,’ and will make a solid case for this characterization based on glaring and alarming facts; facts and concerns shared by several loyal Paul advisors today. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Who is the real Bruce Fein? Why there are so many different versions of Fein &#8211; one contradicting the other? How do his real actions and intimate associations stand in stark contrast to Ron Paul? What is the most likely plot in planting Mr. Fein within Paul’s campaign? </span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Foreign Lobby &amp; Influence Peddling</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Ron Paul has been consistent and exemplary in his strongly held principles on the Foreign lobby and influence peddling; a rarity in the US Congress. He has displayed intense disdain for foreign lobbying and foreign influence. He even considers congressional ‘<em>junkets</em>’ as another means to be </span><a href="http://articles.latimes.com/1997-02-10/news/mn-27270_1_overseas-travel"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">compromised</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">: stressing that he would not travel abroad on agenda-driven foreigners’ dime: “<em>I just think it&#8217;s unnecessary for congressmen to travel overseas, and the people in our district were on my side,&#8221;</em> he said in an interview. &#8220;<em>You don&#8217;t need to go to Bosnia to understand we have no business there</em>.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">With Bruce Fein you have exactly the opposite stand. He has been a crusty foreign lobbyist making millions of dollars peddling his foreign bosses’ interests and influence in Congress and government agencies. For Fein it has never mattered who the foreign client or what their agenda. He does not care whether his foreign clients are criminals or terrorists or dictators. As long as they pay him handsomely he’ll sell their agenda and interest no matter what they may be. The words ‘<em>principle</em>’ or ‘<em>taking a stand’</em> have never entered this foreign lobbyist’s dictionary or comprehension:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">One minute, on behalf of one set of his foreign designated ‘</span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberation_Tigers_of_Tamil_Eelam"><em><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">terrorist</span></em></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">’ bosses, Bruce Fein is busy selling the need for a genocide declaration by the US Congress against one </span><a href="http://www.asiantribune.com/?q=node/18328"><span style="font-family: Arial;">nation</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">: </span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><em>“For the past year I have written about Bruce Fein in many articles that have been widely published and circulated. He is reportedly paid $100,000 per month to tell lies in Washington about the Government of Sri Lanka… Who are the American individuals backing this group? Where are they getting their money to pay Bruce Fein? Does former US Ambassador Blake have something to do with them…</em>”</span></p></blockquote>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_Turkishcoalam.png" alt="trkcoal" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">The next minute, on behalf of another well-known </span><a href="http://reporting.sunlightfoundation.com/2009/defense-contractors-join-turkish-lobbying-effort-in-pursuit-of-/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">foreign mob</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> boss, Bruce Fein is busy peddling influence and selling Congress his foreign bosses’ </span><a href="http://reporting.sunlightfoundation.com/2009/turkeys-influence-over-lawmakers-surfaces-in-ohio-hearing/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">anti-genocide</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> agenda:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-size: small;">“In 2007, Ayasli transferred $30 million in stock to fund a new endeavor, the nonprofit Turkish Coalition of America. The organization is headquartered in a Washington suite that has also been listed as the address for the Turkish Coalition USA PAC, the lobbying firm of Lydia Borland (who has represented the Turkish government), and the law firm of Bruce Fein and Associates (Fein comprises half of the Turkish American Legal Defense Fund)…”</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-size: small;">“materials put out by the Turkish Coalition of America and authored by a lawyer, Bruce Fein, who now represents Schmidt in the complaint, say that Congresswoman Schmidt has on numerous occasions voiced her opposition to such resolutions and maintains that the historical question is not appropriate for Congress to legislate. The congresswoman, based on her independent research, does not believe the tragic events constitute genocide…”</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Bruce Fein sees no problem with representing foreign groups like </span><a href="http://multinationalmonitor.org/hyper/mm0996.09.html"><span style="font-family: Arial;">this</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-size: small;">Fein hit the jackpot in 1991 when he signed on to represent Mozambique&#8217;s notorious guerrilla army, RENAMO, which was seeking to overthrow its country&#8217;s leftist government. When Fein came on board, RENAMO&#8217;s reputation has hit bottom…</span></em></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: small;">…</span></strong></p>
<p><em><span style="font-size: small;">Even the Reagan and Bush administrations kept their distance from RENAMO, despite their anti-Communist rhetoric…</span></em></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: small;">…</span></strong></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Fein, however, eagerly signed up to flack for Dhlakama&#8217;s terror army. Like most foreign lobbyists, he bilked his client for huge sums of money while performing virtually no work.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Mr. Fine, who now fakes and preaches non-interventionism and anti-influence peddling only to echo Ron Paul, in </span><a href="http://multinationalmonitor.org/hyper/mm0996.09.html"><span style="font-family: Arial;">real life</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> has been practicing the exact opposite:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_RENAMO.png" alt="renamo" /><em><span style="font-size: small;">“Now, Fein has returned to lobbying and is working for a client that has the dubious distinction of making RENAMO look good: The Sudan. That country&#8217;s government is barred from receiving U.S. foreign aid because of its support for terrorism and because of its revolting human rights record. Amnesty International reports that the Sudanese government not only assassinates and tortures its &#8220;enemies,&#8221; but that paramilitary forces have kidnapped scores of children, who are believed to be held in domestic slavery by their abductors or taken to camps in remote rural areas, where they are trained for military service”</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Here is another on-the-spot </span><a href="http://www.asiantribune.com/node/13802"><span style="font-family: Arial;">description</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> of Real Bruce Fein as a crusty “Beltway Prostitute”:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">“Well, well, well. Wasn’t Bruce Fein just recently condemning the Government of Sri Lanka for trying to put an end to the LTTE? But this time he’s defending a sovereign government for protecting itself – rather than slandering it using falsehoods. Now you see what I mean when I earlier referred to Mr. Fein as a “Beltway prostitute.” He will accept money from anyone who can pay the price – regardless of where that money came from, or who his legal and public relations services might unjustly hurt. What an embarrassment to the US legal profession.”</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">You see, for Mr. Fein pimping the Congress on behalf of foreign clients is about dollars. Nothing more; nothing less. Whether it is advocating additional foreign aid for one country while our nation is being bankrupted, or dragging our Congress to get involved with domestic meddling and the affairs of another foreign country, Bruce Fein has never been about the United States’ interests; just the opposite. Give Fein the dollars and he’ll sign up to lobby for any one: terrorists, corrupt foreign governments, mobsters, assassins …</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Long pocketed as a ‘<em>lobbyist</em>’ by </span><a href="http://www.fara.gov/docs/5111-Exhibit-AB-19970807-EGO23E04.pdf"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Pakistan</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, </span><a href="http://books.google.com/books?id=Z-cDAAAAMBAJ&amp;pg=PA31&amp;lpg=PA31&amp;dq=%22bruce+Fein%22+Lobbyist&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=qVbl9SBhIi&amp;sig=xUaLoBTpTuzQid2PIzVer5BAoMM&amp;hl=en&amp;ei=fc9VTvaKJMnX0QGPnO2rDA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=book_result&amp;ct=result&amp;resnum=1&amp;ved=0CBgQ6AEwADgU#v=onepage&amp;q=%22bru"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Sudan</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, </span><a href="http://thestressblog.com/2006/05/10/philip-giraldi-on-sibel-turkey-israel-the-neocons-and-the-mic/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Turkey</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, </span><a href="http://www.lankaweb.com/news/items09/210209-2.html"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Tamil</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, and others, Bruce Fein is the exact antithesis to Ron Paul’s principled position on issues related to foreign lobby, corruption and influence peddling in government. </span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">Overt Neocon Ties &amp; Covert Israel Pedigree</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Ron Paul has been in staunch opposition and a counter to Neocon agendas and field players. Whether on the Israel lobby and agenda driving the hawkish currents in our nation today, or the corporate war machine interests guiding our foreign policy practices, Paul has consistently stood firm and unrelenting.</span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_Kristol.png" alt="kristol" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">Mr. Fein’s </span><a href="http://www.americanfreedomagenda.org/About/feinbio.htm"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">public pedigree</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> makes it fairly easy to spot his overt ties and links.<span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span>For example: he has been an adjunct scholar with the </span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Enterprise_Institute"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">American Enterprise Institute (AEI)</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">. By now I think the majority of Americans know about AEI’s claim to fame:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">&#8220;AEI is the most prominent think tank associated with American neoconservatism, in both the domestic and international policy arenas.[10] Irving Kristol, widely considered a father of neoconservatism, is a senior fellow at AEI, and many prominent neoconservatives—including Jeane Kirkpatrick, Ben Wattenberg, and Joshua Muravchik—spent the bulk of their careers at AEI.&#8221;</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">A well-known couple of facts about AEI: </span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">1-</span> <span style="font-family: Arial;">In order to be accepted by AEI, to become one of their scholars, proven neoconservative </span><a href="http://www.lewrockwell.com/spl2/return-of-neocons.html"><span style="font-family: Arial;">inklings</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> and </span><a href="http://www.alternet.org/story/15481/?page=2"><span style="font-family: Arial;">ties</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> are the never-waivered prerequisites. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">2-</span> <span style="font-family: Arial;">AEI seeks candidates who put </span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_lobby_in_the_United_States"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Loyalty</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> and </span><a href="http://www.antiwar.com/orig/lind1.html"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Allegiance</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> to Israel above all. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Acceptance to the tightly knitted and guarded AEI Neocon community also extends to family members and religious affiliations. Bruce Fein has passed both litmus tests in becoming a highly-regarded member of AEI. His wife, Mattie Fein, has been a vocal hawk, </span><a href="http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Institute_for_Persian_Studies"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">neocon propaganda distributor</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">, and a very familiar face within the </span><a href="http://mre.pimpinturtle.com/2009/09/18/republican-mattie-fein-exploring-challenge-for-harmans-seat--shes-not-much-of-a-traditional-republican-shes-more-of-a-ron-paul-republican.aspx"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Beltway</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> neocon community:</span><span id="more-5930"></span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-size: small;">In 2007, Fein penned an opinion piece in the Washington Times calling on the United States to pledge military support to Iranian dissidents in the event of an uprising. Fein, whose father is of Iranian descent, was identified in the piece as the founder and president of the Institute for Persian Studies.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">While Fein’s AEI and neocon connections and strong ties are overtly stated, his loyalties and allegiance to Israel and the Israel lobby are not; that is, until you start digging. A former AEI member who now works as a congressional aid stated, ‘<em>Bruce Fein was liked and trusted there as ‘one of them,’ a real Jewish man loyal to Israel and its interests.</em>’ </span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_IsraelFlag.png" alt="iflag" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">Fein has been successful in playing both sides of this field, and keeping his Israel related activities and ties mainly covert. However, in 2010, Fein’s wife, Mattie Fein, began expressing the couple’s views on Israel and Israel’s interests less covertly.
</em><em><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">The United States should support whatever Israel believes is justified by national security worries over Iran.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_Bolton.png" alt="bolton" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">And here is Bruce Fein’s buddy from AEI, the scandalous </span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_R._Bolton"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">John Bolton</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">,</span> who’s been </span><a href="http://spectator.org/blog/2010/10/25/john-bolton-supporting-gops-ma"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">backing</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> the Fein couple including </span><a href="http://filmladd.com/?VertigoInCalifornia"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Mattie Fein’s fundraising and campaign</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">:</span></p>
<blockquote><p> <em><span style="font-family: Arial;">I was privy to some of the logistics involved in setting up the fundraiser that Bolton held for Mattie&#8217;s campaign. It amazed me how quickly some establishment Republicans tried to steal the thunder of Bolton&#8217;s appearance through various subterfuges and poaching, and it is a credit to the man&#8217;s character and timber that he refused to be a part of it. He was there to endorse Mattie Fein against Jane Harman, and he wouldn&#8217;t let third parties screw that up.</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Mattie Fein’s established Neocon pedigree, her hawkish propaganda and activities nicely echoes </span><a href="file:///C:/Users/Matthew/Documents/Boiling%20Frogs%20Post/Neocon%20Bolton%20wants%20to%20bomb%20Iran"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">Bolton’s own</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">.  Some liken the relationship to mentor-protégé dynamics that began with the marriage to Fein and entry into the AEI circle. </span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">The Question of Ethics …or Lack of</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Even Ron Paul’s foes would admit that he has been a man of principle throughout his life; both inside and outside his congressional career. Those who may disagree with his political platform and stand would acknowledge his adherence to ethical practices, whether in his personal-family life or career. </span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_Schmidt.png" alt="schmidt" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">Bruce Fein’s career on the other hand, in contrast to his writings and well-played public role, has been driven by lucrative foreign lobbying deals, influence peddling in the halls of Congress, the State Department and the CIA, and all that mostly for foreign agendas directly in conflict with those of Americans. Not only that, his regard for ethics as an attorney appears to be nonexistent. In his most recent scandal involving indirect funneling of foreign lobby dollars to Rep. Jean Schmidt, he was </span><a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2011/08/24/rep-jean-schmidt-found-guilty-of-accepting-500000-in-%e2%80%98indirect%e2%80%99-turkish-lobby-payment/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">determined</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> to have been intentionally </span><a href="http://www.armtown.com/news/en/trt/20110808/160975/"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">misguiding</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> his client on the sources of $500,000 dollars in legal fees:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><em><span style="font-family: Arial;">In a statement released on August 5, the House Ethics Committee ruled that Rep Jean Schmidt has received multiple improper gifts totaling $500,000 from the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) between 2008 and 2010. The Committee ruled that Schmidt must pay the money back, However, she will not face sanctions by the House as she was able to pin the blame for her behavior on her attorneys Bruce Fein and David Saltzman</span></em></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">You can read the full report by the House Ethics Committee </span><a href="http://issuu.com/communitypress/docs/schmidtreportwithattachments"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff;">here</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">. It remains to be seen whether anyone will go after Bruce Fein and his license for this highly scandalous case and ethics violations. His two possible explanations for this case would be: 1- I did not tell my client that my legal representation of her case was part of foreign lobby money funneling to her; 2- My client was fully aware of the foreign lobby bribery nature of my legal representation and services, but to protect her and my foreign bosses I took the blame. Under either explanation one glaring point remains clear, and that is the lack of ethics on behalf of the involved attorney-Bruce Fein. On the other hand, Mr. Fein appears to have had practice in riding ethics related scandals and waves. At least in the scandalous ethic violations </span><a href="http://patterico.com/2011/02/14/questions-about-bruce-fein%E2%80%99s-ethics/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">case</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;">  involving Bruce Fein and his partner Ephraim Chukwuemeka Ugwuonye, Esq.</span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_Paul.png" alt="paul" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">I started with that famous quote from Marcus Tullius Cicero because it applies to this report and the plots delivered from within. When it comes to Ron Paul’s Campaign no one would ever have to worry about known snakes and neocons like Paul Wolfowitz or Richard Perle. The enemy sent to you will be one who talks just like you; speaks your words and shouts your slogans. And does so very convincingly. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I have tried to be brief with carefully and well-sourced facts and cases to provide a factual profile for the real Bruce Fein. Considering the facts and who Mr. Fein is, and has been, why would he methodically go about attaching himself to Ron Paul and his campaign? After consulting with several well-respected and trust-worthy sources, the troubling answer was summed up in two possibilities:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-family: Arial;">1-</span> <span style="font-family: Arial;">This is a commonly used ploy by the establishment to penetrate Ron Paul and his camp which has been gaining momentum. This is where the plant carries inside information and strategic plans to the establishment, and simultaneously tries to exert negative influence over decision making and strategy-setting processes. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">2-</span> <span style="font-family: Arial;">The plant willingly and knowingly becomes the fall-guy bringing down the target candidate. Highly damaging and scandalous information about the plant would be strategically released to the media-public, and the candidate suffers the ultimate consequences.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Personally I am leaning more towards the second possibility and here is why:</span></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/830_FleetingFein.png" alt="flfein" /><span style="font-family: Arial;">I was </span><a href="http://asbarez.com/69244/fbi-insider-links-turkish-lobby-to-bribery-and-blackmail/"><span style="font-family: Arial;">privy</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"> to the extensive rap sheet maintained on Mr. Fein, his foreign mob bosses and their operations at J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI. Mr. Fein is well aware of this rap sheet and the FBI’s long-maintained operations. I know with certainty that if released by the FBI, whether partially or completely, it would be used as ongoing front-page headlines by the media, to bring down the entire Paul campaign before the primaries. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">Ron Paul already has a highly-respected constitutional scholar who is articulate, eloquent, passionate, and most importantly, trust-worthy, clean, and from outside the poisonous capital beltway. That person is Tom Woods. Paul does not need this man Fein. He does not need this glitzy-oily foreign lobbyist who stands in total contrast to Paul’s platform. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;">I like Ron Paul. I support his stand on foreign policy related matters and his objectives on what need to be changed. I applaud Paul’s stand on our liberties, and I back his quest for a much smaller government. I have done so for years. Please don’t let the establishment succeed in their plot. Bruce Fein is the greatest threat to Paul’s movement to date. He would be a stain – a taint; not one easily removed after the fact. Please begin the countdown, and have Ron Paul remove this man from the campaign as a trusted advisor and insider. Let the countdown begin today; at this hour -at this very minute. Before it is too late.</span></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><center><strong>Resurrecting the Neocons: Marc Grossman in … Richard Perle &amp; Douglas Feith in Queue</strong></center></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Grossman2-15.png" alt="Grossman215" />Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has chosen a new special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan: a long-time controversial neocon, a man who has been famous for parading as a foreign agent in the lobby circuit, the scandalous former diplomat Marc Grossman. The not-so-gradual resurrection of the old neocon cabal under the Obama administration, led by Hillary Clinton, should not come as a surprise. According to Washington insiders, Richardl Perle and Douglas Feith have been consulted more than a few times in their ‘<em>unofficial</em>’ capacity, but are not far down in the queue to receive ‘<em>official</em>’ acknowledgement. This shouldn’t come as a surprise; at least to those who’ve been following the steady momentum building at the Obama White House towards a soon-to-come Neocon Easter.</p>
<p>Hillary Clinton appointed <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Ross">Dennis Ross</a> as Special Advisor for the Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia; a man well-known as a hard-core neocon,  Paul Wolfowitz’ protégé, cofounder of the AIPAC sponsored Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and one of the loudest advocates for the Israel lobby. A man who is known to consider himself more Israeli than American; a Jewish American who is <a href="http://www.leadel.net/talks/society-politics/dennis-ross">known</a> to have spent ‘a lot of time’ in Israel to find his <a href="http://www.forward.com/articles/14950/">real</a> identity-nationality.</p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Kagan.png" alt="Kagan" />We had <a href="http://rt.com/usa/news/neocons-resurfacing-obama-administration/">Frederick Kagan</a>, a neocon of choice for Mr. Obama, who was hired to manage General Petraeus on Afghanistan. A man whose father was born into a Jewish family in Lithuania; a man cherished by his bosses at the <a title="American Enterprise Institute" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Enterprise_Institute">American Enterprise Institute</a>; a man who authored the book, <a title="While America Sleeps" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/While_America_Sleeps">While America Sleeps</a><em>,</em> arguing in favor of a large increase in military spending and warned of future threats, including the imaginary WMD program in Iraq. We are talking about <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Kagan">the man</a> who was one of the main signatories of <a title="Project for the New American Century" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century">Project for the New American Century</a> manifesto &#8211; the Neocon Bible. The man who was one of the Bush-Cheney administration’s favorite masterminds when it came to perpetual wars.<span id="more-3025"></span></p>
<p>Let’s jump to our newest and by far the boldest Neocon addition to the Obama-Clinton Whitehouse. Marc Grossman is chosen by the administration to fill the seat vacated by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Holbrooke">Richard Holbrooke</a>; another Jewish American Neocon who had been a man of choice for every administration in the last four decades. I suggest you read the article titled ‘<a href="http://www.lewrockwell.com/frank/frank42.html">Obama’s Neocon</a>’ if you want to know a bit more about the old neocon shoes Mr. Grossman will be filling. As for our media’s usual sanitized <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/14/AR2011021406411.html">version</a> for Mr. Grossman’s background, the following by the neocon circle PR machine, the Washington Post, sums it up well:<!--more--></p>
<blockquote><p><em>In a nearly three-decade career at the State Department, Grossman served as assistant secretary of state for Europe and ambassador to Turkey. His last assignment, before retiring from the foreign service in 2005, was undersecretary for political affairs during the first administration of George W. Bush.</em></p>
<p><em>He now is vice chairman of the Cohen Group, which advises international business clients on overseas enterprises. Although the consulting group, headed by former defense secretary William Cohen, has several clients with contracts in South Asia, administration officials said they did not foresee any problem in clearing Grossman for the post. </em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>From the mainstream media reporting similar to the above, ordinary Americans should at least gather this much:</p>
<p>Mr. Grossman had to be a Bush-Cheney administration favorite to be appointed as the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, the State Department&#8217;s third-ranking official, in 2001. In 2004, Grossman attained the Foreign Service&#8217;s highest rank when the President appointed him to the rank of Career Ambassador.</p>
<p>Grossman works for the sin city’s (Washington DC) lobby industry. Not only that, he actually represents foreign governments, foreign businesses and interests. The <a href="http://www.cohengroup.net/">Cohen Group</a> represents some of the country’s largest weapons manufacturers, companies that stand to benefit from weapons sales: Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Sikorsky…among others. Their list of controversial and or criminal entities includes companies such as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DynCorp">DynCorp International</a>. Through their partnership with DLA Piper, the Cohen group also <a href="http://undertheinfluence.nationaljournal.com/mt/mt-search.cgi?IncludeBlogs=48&amp;search=Foreign%20Agent%20Lobbying">serves</a> foreign clients such as the <a href="http://www.harpers.org/archive/2006/11/sb-valley-of-the-wolves-1164806194">Turkish government and business interest groups</a>, <a href="http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=13337">Australia’s scandalous AWB</a>, <a href="http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-15273430.html">India</a> and UAE. </p>
<p>And here is what many Americans won’t be getting from the US media:<!--more--></p>
<p>-  The investigative <a href="http://www.historycommons.org/entity.jsp?entity=marc_grossman">reports</a> on Marc Grossman and his role in planting moles in US nuclear facilities:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>An unnamed high-ranking State Department official helps a nuclear smuggling ring connected to Pakistani nuclear scientist A. Q. Khan and Pakistan’s ISI to plant “moles” in US military and academic institutions that handle nuclear technology, according to FBI translator Sibel Edmonds. The State Department official apparently arranges security clearance for some of the moles, enabling them to work in sensitive nuclear research facilities, including the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico, which is responsible for the security of the US nuclear deterrent. The high-ranking State Department official who is not named by Britain’s Sunday Times is said to be Marc Grossman…</em></p></blockquote>
<p> <br />
- John M. Cole, a former FBI Counterintelligence and Counterespionage Manager, has <a href="http://www.amconmag.com/blog/2009/09/28/and-its-not-only-sibel-edmonds-who-says-so/">publicly confirmed</a> FBI’s decade long investigation the former State Department Official, Marc Grossman:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>John M. Cole, a former FBI Counterintelligence and Counterespionage Manager, has publicly confirmed the FBI’s decade long investigation of the former State Department Official Marc Grossman. Cole worked for 18 years in the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division. According to Cole, as in over one hundred cases involving Israeli espionage activities directed against the US government, the Grossman case was covered up and buried despite mountains of evidence that was collected.</em></p>
<p><em>Here is the public response from John Cole after the publication of The American Conservative magazine’s </em><a href="http://www.amconmag.com/article/2009/nov/01/00006/"><em>cover story</em></a><em>:</em></p>
<p><em>“I read the recent cover story by The American Conservative magazine. I applaud their courage in publishing this significant interview. I am fully aware of the FBI’s decade-long investigation of the High-level State Department Official named in this article, Marc Grossman, which ultimately was buried and covered up. It is long past time to investigate this case and bring about accountability…”</em></p></blockquote>
<p><strong>-</strong>Marc Grossman was the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/16/politics/16memo.html?_r=2&amp;oref=slogin">originator</a> of the Plame Leak:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Marc Grossman, the undersecretary of state for political affairs, prepares a memo about former ambassador Joseph Wilson’s trip to Niger to ascertain the truth or falsity of claims that Iraq had attempted to purchase uranium from that nation (see </em><a href="http://www.historycommons.org/item.jsp?item=complete_timeline_of_the_2003_invasion_of_iraq_106"><em>February 21, 2002-March 4, 2002</em></a><em>). The memo refers explicitly to Wilson’s wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, as a CIA official and identifies her as Wilson’s wife, using the name “Valerie Wilson.” The second paragraph of the memo is marked with an “S,” denoting that Wilson is a covert operative for the agency. </em></p></blockquote>
<p> <!--more--></p>
<p>-In late December 2005, Grossman joined Ihlas Holding, a large and alleged shady Turkish company which is also active in several Central Asian countries. Grossman is <a href="http://rastibini.blogspot.com/2006/09/news-thats-not-fit-to-print-in-america.html">reported</a> to receive $100,000 per month for his advisory position with Ihlas.</p>
<p>-In May 2010, DLA Piper, one of the world’s largest international lobby-law firms, <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2010/05/09/the-brazen-turkish-lobby/">hired</a> Marc Grossman as their front man for their Turkish operations. The man in charge of one of DLA Piper major accounts-Turkey is none other than our good ole <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2009/12/28/dennis-hastert-a-portrait-of-a-political-system-termite/">Dennis Hastert</a>. That makes two former FBI criminal targets for one firm;-)</p>
<p>Now, with all these murky qualifications, you’d think the mainstream media would have a field day with Marc Grossman’s appointment by the Hillary-Obama administration; right? Wrong. So far, not a peep from the US media and that includes both the ‘R’ and the ‘D’ fronts. Same goes for the quasi alternatives. Not even a word about the ‘<em>revolving door</em>’ aspect of this scandalous appointment: A Foreign Agent, A Lobbyist, A man on the payroll of a shady foreign company for over $1 million a year…But then again, less than a month ago we witnessed another envoy, another appointment, with a major ‘CONFLICT OF INTEREST’ flag rising to its top that went completely censored in the US media. The scandal was widely reported by foreign media, such as the Independent, who actually broke the <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/revealed-us-envoys-business-link-to-egypt-2206329.html">story</a>, and even after that, we barely heard a peep:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Frank Wisner, President </em><a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/revealed-us-envoys-business-link-to-egypt-2206329.html"><em>Barack</em></a><em> Obama&#8217;s envoy to Cairo who infuriated the White House this weekend by urging Hosni Mubarak to remain President of Egypt, works for a New York and Washington law firm which works for the dictator&#8217;s own Egyptian government. </em></p>
<p><em>The US State Department and Mr Wisner himself have now both claimed that his remarks were made in a &#8220;personal capacity&#8221;. But there is nothing &#8220;personal&#8221; about Mr Wisner&#8217;s connections with the litigation firm Patton Boggs, which openly boasts that it advises &#8220;the Egyptian </em><a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/revealed-us-envoys-business-link-to-egypt-2206329.html"><em>military</em></a><em>, the Egyptian Economic Development Agency, and has handled arbitrations and litigation on the [Mubarak] government&#8217;s behalf in Europe and the US&#8221;. <strong>Oddly, not a single journalist raised this extraordinary connection with US government officials </strong>– nor the blatant conflict of interest it appears to represent. </em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>Mr Wisner is a retired State Department 36-year career diplomat – he served as US </em><a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/revealed-us-envoys-business-link-to-egypt-2206329.html"><em>ambassador</em></a><em> to Egypt, Zambia, the Philippines and India under eight American presidents. In other words, he was not a political appointee. But it is inconceivable Hillary Clinton did not know of his employment by a company that works for the very dictator which Mr Wisner now defends in the face of a massive democratic opposition in Egypt. So why on earth was he sent to talk to Mubarak, who is in effect a client of Mr Wisner&#8217;s current employers? </em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>Patton Boggs states that its attorneys &#8220;represent some of the leading Egyptian commercial families and their companies&#8221; and &#8220;have been involved in oil and gas and telecommunications infrastructure projects on their behalf&#8221;. One of its partners served as chairman of the US-Egyptian Chamber of Commerce promoting foreign investment in the Egyptian economy. The company has also managed contractor disputes in military-sales agreements arising under the US Foreign Military Sales Act. Washington gives around $1.3bn (£800m) a year to the Egyptian military. </em></p>
<p><em>Mr Wisner joined Patton Boggs almost two years ago – more than enough time for both the White House and the State Department to learn of his company&#8217;s intimate connections with the Mubarak regime. <strong>The New York Times ran a glowing profile of Mr Wisner in its pages two weeks ago – but mysteriously did not mention his ties to Egypt</strong>. </em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>I find this sentence in the above quotes really funny: <strong><em>“Oddly, not a single journalist raised this extraordinary connection with US government officials”</em></strong> As far as our media goes, what’s odd about that?! They’ve been really consistent at remaining very ‘<strong><em>odd</em></strong>’ when it comes to reporting on ‘<em>crucial, troublesome &amp; very relevant</em>’ facts like this one. And, Marc Grossman’s recent unofficial appointment to be official this Friday is another perfect example:</p>
<p>A long-time neocon, a Jewish-American with questionably strong ties to Israel, a long-term target of FBI counterespionage and counterintelligence investigations, a lobbyist, a foreign agent, an employee of a shady foreign business, a man associated with major treason scandals, Marc Grossman, is making his way back to the ‘<em>new</em>’ administration, following his several other co-species who’ve been sitting inside, leading the way for the rest of the co-species who’ve been eagerly waiting to be granted official entry cards. Thanks to the media, while the public is sitting in the dark, the Obama-Hillary White House is changing color to pastels,  getting ready for their Neocon Easter and the resurrection of the previously, and dubiously, advertised as long-gone and dead breed – Neo-cons.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><center><strong>Obama’s Nominee for Azerbaijan Ambassadorship Misleads Congress on the Issues of Conflict of Interest &amp; Questionable Ties</strong></center></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/BaranBryza.png" alt="BB" />In response to questions at the hearing that he was too close to Azerbaijani Government officials with highly questionable ties, Matt Bryza remained evasive and provided half-answer responses while denying any special ties or conflicts of interest due to his controversial and scandalous Neocon wife, Zeyno Baran. After the hearing Bryza submitted even more evasive and incomplete answers to a series of questions submitted separately by Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA). Particularly on one significant issue related to his questionable ties and conflict of interest related to his wife’s intimate relationship and position, Bryza may have actually perjured himself.</p>
<p>During his confirmation hearings Bryza tried very hard to assure Congress that there were no reasons whatsoever to worry about conflict of interest(s) based on his marriage to Zeyno Baran, and that she had given up all positions and involvements related to Azerbaijan. At the hearing, he <a href="http://www.eurasianet.org/node/61586">said</a> that his marriage would present no conflict of interest, and that a thorough State Department vetting of his finances found nothing untoward. He said Baran would not influence his positions as ambassador, and that any common positions they held were the result of kindred spirits.</p>
<p>In all this, Bryza conveniently forgot to report or even mention his wife’s <a href="http://sam.gov.az/en/journals/azerbaijan-focus/editorial-board">official position</a> as a member of the editorial board of an Azerbaijani government institution, the journal Azerbaijan Focus: Journal of International Affairs. And guess what, according to its <a href="http://sam.gov.az/en/journals/azerbaijan-focus">website</a>, <em>Azerbaijan Focus </em>“is a publication of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”</p>
<p>Now, how could Bryza forget this mammoth conflict of interest, and do so despite being put under the direct spotlight with even more direct questions on this specific topic regarding his controversial bride?! Guess who happen to be Zeyno Baran’s <a href="http://www.anca.org/assets/pdf/misc/BryzaNomination.pdf">colleagues</a> at this position?</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Ms. Baran serves on the editorial board along with several Azerbaijani government officials including Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Editorial Board Ramiz Mehdiyev, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Hafiz Pashayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan</em>.</p></blockquote>
<p>In July I wrote a rather long <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2010/07/27/obama-appoints-a-not-too-long-ago-hatched-neocon-larva/">article</a> on Bryza’s background, the issues surrounding his Neocon wife, and their scandalous and lavish wedding in Turkey. Considering Zeyno Baran’s position at this journal owned and operated by the Azerbaijani government, no wonder the <a href="http://asbarez.com/82784/tale-of-bryza%E2%80%99s-wedding-and-the-jailed-reporter/">two investigative Azerbaijani journalists</a> who uncovered and reported Bryza Wedding’s Azerbaijani guests and financiers were beaten up, arrested, and jailed for their exposé!!!! The reporters brought the needed attention to Bryza’s certain special guests, who happened to be political figureheads from Azerbaijan, and the special gifts and financial contributions by them to Bryza’s bride and her nearly quarter million dollar wedding expenses.</p>
<p>But wait, there is more! In addition to serving on a board of an Azerbaijani government institution, there is this not so insignificant question on funding of Mrs. Bryza’s employer, the Center for Eurasian Policy at the Hudson Institute. Mr. Bryza has stated, many times, on the record, that his bride has been on leave without pay from the Hudson Institute since June 1, 2009. However, there are numerous instances where Ms.Baran has been listed as an active employee of the Hudson Institute since that date, including as <a href="http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:mBqHj39WvrIJ:drgluss.podhoster.com/index.ph">recently</a> as August 2010.</p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Hudson.png" alt="Hudson" />As for funding of Mrs. Bryza’s employer? Well, no one seems to know, and those who really want to know have been blocked from finding out. The infamous Hudson Institute is pretty well-known for its <a href="http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Hudson_Institute">tight-lipped policies</a> on the sources of its funding. To this date, despite inquiries, they have not responded to questions regarding funding from Azerbaijani businesses or foundations or corporations with an interest in Azerbaijan. However we know <a href="http://www.hudson.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=hudson_upcoming_events&amp;id=449">this much</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>-In 2007, the Hudson Institution&#8217;s Center for Eurasian Policy, hosted a conference, titled &#8220;The Azerbaijan- Turkey- US Relationship and its Importance for Eurasia.” </p>
<p>-According to their own published &#8220;<em>Event Summary and Conclusions</em>,&#8221; this event was financed by a foreign entity, the &#8220;Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association,&#8221; with direct financial interests in Turkey and Azerbaijan.</p>
<p>-The majority of speakers at this conference, held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, were officials from the Azerbaijani and Turkish governments.</p></blockquote>
<p>Now how is that our Mr. Bryza fails to report and account for these crucial facts? Further, shouldn’t his official responses to the specific questions asked on these issues be considered perjury? Because being evasive and wishy-washy go only so far in explaining the absence of these facts. At some point, someone in Congress will hopefully look into the real meaning and implications of Bryza’s foolish attempts to dodge questions meant to determine his suitability for this job. Evasive? Or just plain perjury?</p>
<p><center><strong># # # #</strong></center></p>
<p>Update: <a href="http://www.armenianweekly.com/2010/09/28/sassounian-obama-can-now-replace-bryza-with-a-new-nominee-as-envoy-to-baku/">Here</a> is a recent analysis of possible outcomes on the Bryza vs. Azerbaijan Ambassadorship by Harut Sassounian, who had earlier written <a href="http://asbarez.com/85277/senate-should-not-confirm-bryza-as-u-s-ambassador-to-azerbaijan/?utm_source=feedburner&#038;utm_medium=feed&#038;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Asbarez+%28Asbarez+News%29">this piece</a> on major issues surrounding Bryza’s Senate confirmation. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Matthew Bryza: Azerbaijan Ambassadorship &amp; a Tangled Web of Conflicts</strong></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;" src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/ObamaBryza.png" alt="OB" />President Obama appears to have run out of Non-Neocon candidates to appoint for crucial positions. After one year with no ambassador to fill the position in Azerbaijan, the President reached out to and appointed a young neocon with a tangled web of conflicts. I am talking about a neocon and his wife, a duo who for the last decade and a half have been attached to figures such as Michael Rubin, Barry Rubin, Daniel Pipes, Richard Perle, Robert Novak…We have here a fairly young to-be-ambassador neocon, whose lavish wedding in Turkey could not have been possible without the generosity of those involved in the Baku-Ceyhan Pipeline projects, and corrupt figureheads in Azerbaijan politics…This is about a shady neocon figure with a shadier role in the almost-forgotten Georgia-Russia incident a couple of years ago…We are talking about neocon Matt Bryza and his more-of-a-neocon think-tank damsel Zeyno Baran; President Obama’s choice for  the ambassadorship in Azerbaijan.</p>
<p>Last Thursday Mr. Bryza was on the defensive when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. While the general MSM coverage placed its main focus on Bryza’s questionable actions, actually lack of actions, on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflicts and incidents involving the desecration of ancient Armenian gravesites in the town of Julfa in the Azerbaijani exclave of Naxcivan, very little coverage was given to his even greater baggage and background.  <a href="http://www.rferl.org/content/Obama_Pick_For_US_Ambassador_To_Azerbaijan_On_The_Defensive_At_Senate_Hearing/2107402.html">Here</a> is one of those cursory coverages I’m talking about:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Bryza also pledged to not let his personal life affect his work. His wife, Zeyno Baran, is of Turkish origin, which some Armenian critics say leads to an anti-Armenian bias. Baran, who was present at the hearing, has also been cited as a source of potential conflict of interest for Bryza in terms of energy politics. She works for the Hudson Institute, a Washington-based think-tank which receives funding from ExxonMobile and other energy companies. Azerbaijan is a key &#8220;southern corridor&#8221; country for planned increases in gas shipment from the Caspian region to Europe</em>.</p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Bryza’s neocon damsel’s past and present, and her various business and close associations are only the tip of a gigantic iceberg. But rest assured, our media and Congress will not go ‘there’, of course, without being forced to do so, that is.</p>
<p><strong><em>So who is this quietly conceived hatched Neocon Larva, Matt Bryza? </em></strong></p>
<p>As before I am going to start with the common pedigree chosen by our shallow MSM journalist friends and the like; the type that doesn’t raise many (if any) flags, at first glance:</p>
<p>Matthew J. Bryza is a diplomat who became Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs in June 2005. Two months ago President Obama appointed him as the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Here is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Bryza">canned description</a> of his job as a ‘diplomat’:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>In this capacity, he is responsible for policy oversight and management of U.S. relations with countries in the Caucasus and Southern Europe. He also leads U.S. efforts to advance peaceful settlements of the separatist conflicts of </em><a title="Abkhazia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abkhazia"><em>Abkhazia</em></a><em> and </em><a title="South Ossetia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Ossetia"><em>South Ossetia</em></a><em> in Georgia, and works with the Special Negotiator for Eurasian Conflicts to advance a settlement to the </em><a title="Nagorno-Karabakh" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagorno-Karabakh"><em>Nagorno-Karabakh</em></a><em> conflict. Additionally, Bryza coordinates U.S. energy policy in the regions surrounding the Black and Caspian Seas. He also works with European countries on issues of tolerance, social integration, and </em><a title="Islam" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam"><em>Islam</em></a>.</p>
<p><em>In April 2001, Bryza joined the </em><a title="United States National Security Council" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_National_Security_Council"><em>National Security Council</em></a><em> as Director for Europe and Eurasia, with responsibility for coordinating U.S. policy on </em><a title="Turkey" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey"><em>Turkey</em></a><em>, </em><a title="Greece" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greece"><em>Greece</em></a><em>, </em><a title="Cyprus" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyprus"><em>Cyprus</em></a><em>, the </em><a title="Caucasus" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caucasus"><em>Caucasus</em></a><em>, Central Asia, and Caspian energy.</em></p>
<p><em>Bryza served as the deputy to the Special Advisor to the President and Secretary of State on Caspian Basin Energy Diplomacy from July 1998 to March 2001. In this capacity, Bryza coordinated the U.S. Government’s inter-agency effort to develop a network of oil and gas pipelines in the Caspian region.During 1997-1998, Bryza was special advisor to Ambassador </em><a title="Richard Morningstar" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Morningstar"><em>Richard Morningstar</em></a><em>, coordinating U.S. Government assistance programs on economic reform in the Caucasus and Central Asia.</em></p>
<p><em>Bryza served at the U.S. Embassy in </em><a title="Moscow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow"><em>Moscow</em></a><em> during 1995-1997, first as special assistant to Ambassador </em><a title="Thomas R. Pickering" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_R._Pickering"><em>Thomas R. Pickering</em></a><em>, then as a political officer covering the Russian Duma, the Communist Party, and the Republic of </em><a title="Dagestan" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagestan"><em>Dagestan</em></a><em> in the North Caucasus.</em></p>
<p><em>He worked on European and Russian affairs at the </em><a title="State Department" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Department"><em>State Department</em></a><em> during 1991-1995.Bryza served in </em><a title="Poland" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland"><em>Poland</em></a><em> in 1989-1991 at the U.S. Consulate in </em><a title="Poznań" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pozna%C5%84"><em>Poznań</em></a><em> and the U.S. Embassy in </em><a title="Warsaw" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw"><em>Warsaw</em></a><em>, where he covered the Solidarity movement, reform of Poland’s security services, and regional politics</em>.</p></blockquote>
<p>At first glance the above description is about a good ole boring tie-wearing State Department bureaucrat who was docile and boring enough to last through four administrations: Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., and now, Obama; that and the fact that the guy has been climbing the ladder steadily and rather quickly. Taking a closer look, if we have enough interest and if we are paying attention, our man’s operational file stands out a bit:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong><em>Caucasus, Central Asia, Eurasia, Caspian Sea, Turkey, Russia, Dagestan, Georgia…</em></strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Look just a little bit closer and you’ll notice even more important key works associated with key operations falling within the real interest of the key people:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong><em>Caspian</em></strong><strong><em> Basin</em></strong><strong><em>, Caspian Energy, Energy Diplomacy, Islam, Oil &amp; Gas Pipelines…</em></strong></p></blockquote>
<p>You and I know that ‘<em>they</em>’ don’t put just <em>any</em> good ole boring bureaucrat in positions dealing with the above key regions and dealing with the above key operations and issues. Right? Right. So back to the real question: who is this Matt Bryza? How did he get his start? Whose protégé was he to make it this far this fast? Who are his buddies? The answers to some of these questions take time and real effort to discover, since you won’t find them by browsing through MSM news archives or biographical synapses posted here and there…</p>
<p>Let’s start with the key person leading to Bryza’s acceptance and entry as a larva into the nest of the major neocon players, and his speedy ascent thereafter:</p>
<p><strong>Richard Morningstar &amp; His Closeted Neocon Status</strong></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;" src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Morningstar.png" alt="MStr" />From Morningstar’s commonly cited pedigree sheet we know that he and Bryza collected degrees from Stanford University, which later led to their mentor-protégé relationship. In 1997 Bryza  became special advisor to Ambassador <a title="Richard Morningstar" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Morningstar">Richard Morningstar</a>, coordinating U.S. Government assistance programs on economic reform in the Caucasus and Central Asia during 1997-1998. Digging a little bit <a href="http://eurodialogue.org/Caucasus-The-War-That-Was-The-World-War-That-Might-Have-Been">more</a>:</p>
<p><em>In 1998 <strong>Bryza </strong>was <strong>Morningstar</strong>&#8216;s chief lieutenant in managing U.S. Caspian Sea energy interests as Deputy to the Special Advisor to the President and Secretary of State on Caspian Basin Energy Diplomacy, where he remained until March of 2001, and he worked on developing what are now U.S. and Western plans to circumvent Russia and Iran and achieve dominance over the delivery of energy supplies to Europe</em>.</p>
<p>Interestingly, last year, one year before Obama appointed Bryza as an Ambassador to Azerbaijan, on April 20, 2009, Morningstar was <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE53P0F620090426?sp=true">appointed</a> to the role of supporting U.S. energy goals in the Eurasian region. Morningstar was special advisor to the Clinton administration on Caspian energy; time to reunite the old mentor and his protégé for the next attempt on the Baku-Ceyhan Pipeline.</p>
<p>Morningstar’s status as one of the power player neocons has been long closeted.. During the 90s he was working with and serving one of the main agendas of Neocon players such as Elliott Abrams, Dick Cheney, Frank Gaffney, Paul Wolfowitz …People tend to pay attention only to the top 25 signatories and contributors of <a href="http://www.publiceye.org/pnac_chart/pnac.html">Project for the New American Century-PNAC</a>. Yes, that infamous list also includes the Neocons shining star for Central Asia &amp; the Caucasus, Mr. Richard L. Morningstar.</p>
<p>Conn Halinan’s counterpunch <a href="http://www.counterpunch.org/hallinan05262004.html">article</a> in 2004 aptly highlights an important fact when it comes to the Haliburtons, Perles and Wumsers and their Project for the New American Century (PNAC) as it relates to Central Asia:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>The recent move of oil companies and the U.S. military into Central Asia is a case in point. It was President Bill Clinton, not George W. Bush, who crafted that strategy. It was not the Republicans who brought Halliburton and Cheney into the Caspian region, but Clinton advisor Richard Morningstar, now a John Kerry point man</em>.</p></blockquote>
<p>Halinan is right on target: Clinton appointee Morningstar paved the way for Dick Cheney’s Halliburton’s positioning in Central Asia, and did darn many other good deeds for the main signatories of the Neocon Wet Dream in that region.</p>
<p>Morningstar is also known as one of those who take their allegiances to Israel above anything else. You may remember the questions surrounding Douglas Feith’s and Rahm Emanuel’s Israel citizenship status. I haven’t seen anyone questioning Mr. Morningstar’s status in Israel; at least not on the record, but Morningstar and his family are known as staunch supporters of Israel with close ties over there. Morningstar’s mother’s, the late Jane Morningstar, obituary in the <a href="http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/obituaries/articles/2008/06/13/jane_morningstar_endowed_college_scholarships_at_89/">Boston Globe</a> provides only a little initial glimpse; others with far deeper knowledge of Morningstar’s real Israel connections would currently rather whisper…Time may raise the volume on these closeted facts, or may not.</p>
<p>The latest articles regarding Matt Bryza’s connection to the Neocons are limited to his connection through his wife, Zeyno Baran. Either intentional censorship or ignorance glosses over his close neocon ties which started long before his marriage, going back to his early years under his mentor Morningstar, and accelerating steadily, assisting his speedy career ascent.  Just check out his event calendar to see how his name pairs up with tneocon brand names when it comes to functions, speeches, think-tank gatherings…</p>
<p><strong><em>Matt Bryza &amp; His Neocon Damsel</em></strong></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;" src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Baran.png" alt="Bar" />In 2007 Matt Bryza married Zeyno Baran, a Turkish-American neocon who’s been working for the Hudson Institute and before that for the Nixon Center. Here are a few of her titles and areas of expertise highly valued and marketed by her current neocon mentors and bosses such as Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, Conrad Black, Abram Shulsky&#8230;: Director of the Center for Eurasian Policy, Director of International Security and Energy Programs, Director of the Caucasus Project.</p>
<p>Baran and her colleagues and mentors are closely <a href="http://www.todayszaman.com/tz-web/detaylar.do?load=detay&amp;link=143547">associated</a> with the Turkish Ultra-Nationalist (Ulusalcis) movement and figures, including the military figures involved in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergenekon_(organization)">Ergenekon</a> scandal:</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<blockquote><p><em>The think tanks actively engaging the Turkish Ulusalcıs are AEI, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and the Hudson Institute. The institutional relations between the American neo-cons and the Turkish Ulusalcıs are run by the office of <strong>Dick Cheney, Richard Perle of AEI and Zeyno Baran of the Hudson Institute</strong> on the American side and, on the other side, by Mustafa Süzer, former owner of Kentbank and a close associate of Perle, and İlhan Selçuk, &#8220;big brother&#8221; of Cumhuriyet. Süzer&#8217;s meetings with Dick Cheney were disclosed in the Turkish press and never denied by either side. Selçuk is also reported to have spoken with Cheney&#8217;s advisors and established a back-channel with the US vice president&#8217;s office through Elçin Poyrazlar, the Washington representative for Cumhuriyet. Writing in the Yeni Şafak daily, Taha Kıvanç claimed that this back-channel had already been established before the American occupation of Iraq and that Selçuk had promised the Americans Turkey&#8217;s support in return for American neo-con support for the Turkish Ulusalcıs to come to power in Ankara.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>It was also claimed that State Department diplomat <strong>Matthew Bryza</strong>, long-time boyfriend and, more recently, husband of <strong>Zeyno Baran</strong>, was the person who wrote the declaration read by Fried that gave the Turkish military the &#8220;green light&#8221; by saying that the Americans were not on any side of the discussion. The extent to which <strong>Bryza</strong> was influenced by his wife is not known, but the similarities in their rhetoric against the AK Party are striking. <strong>Baran</strong>, who was already a controversial figure due to her involvement in the infamous Hudson Institute meeting, her article in Newsweek that predicted a military coup in 2007 and her involvement with the colored revolutions in Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Ukraine…</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Despite her deranged mother,  who has been calling Turkish reporters, harassing and asking them to write about her daughter’s IQ level (her <a href="http://www.haber7.com/haber/20070624/Zeyno-Baran-ABDye-gelin-gidiyor.php">claim</a> on that went from ‘over 100’ to ‘120,’ and during the Bryza-Baran wedding to ‘158’ IQ points!!), the overly ambitious Zeyno Baran’s <a href="http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_kmnew/is_200612/ai_n16943159/">idiotic move</a> to preempt Ergenekon by publicly ‘<em>predicting</em>’ the attempted coup backfired, and cast doubt on this Nuevo Neocon’s intelligence and tactfulness. What she wanted: to grab attention and score points among her neocon mentors and colleagues. What happened: she exposed the mutually dependent relationship between her bosses and the ultra-nationalist rogue Turkish generals, and brought into the light the active role played by US neocons in the coup plot in Turkey. This major booboo alone was enough to take 15 points off her average IQ. Later in this article we’ll go over another major Baran booboo on the financial sources of her lavish wedding, leaving her very few remaining IQ points…</p>
<p><strong>The Lavish Wedding, the Wedding Financiers, and the Mafia</strong></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 3px 3px 6px;" src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Bryza-Baran.png" alt="BB" />In 2007, after several years of a personal and close work relationship, Matt Bryza and Zeyno Baran were married in Turkey. The ultra lavish wedding and its highly interesting list of 400 plus guests made the front-page of many Turkish newspapers and magazines, but that publicity was nothing compared to the subsequent media coverage, and of course, the cost to two brave Azerbaijani journalists who exposed the ‘<em>real financiers</em>’ of Bryza-Baran’s lavish wedding and it’s true implications. Let’s start with the ‘<em>highly costly</em>’ wedding, the ‘<em>special guests</em>,’ the exposed financiers, and those who tried to expose them. Here is a snapshot of the <a href="http://yenisafak.com.tr/Gundem/?t=24.08.2007&amp;i=63955">costly wedding</a>:</p>
<p><strong>The location</strong>:  In one of the most expensive club houses in Istanbul. To rent the space Bryza-Baran were given a ‘<em>special</em>’ discount by a ‘<em>very special</em>’ Turkish mafia connected friend (the infamous owner of the Galatasaray Soccer Team); Instead of $80K the rent was reduced to around $35K.</p>
<p><strong>Number of Guests</strong>: around <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">450</span></strong>; many power-players from the Caspian energy field, including political figureheads from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, and of course the USA.</p>
<p><strong>Wedding Security</strong>: <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">250</span></strong> policemen were hired and put in place for protection; several K-9 police dogs were brought in for search purposes. In addition to all this Bryza-Baran hired <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">20</span></strong> additional private bodyguards.</p>
<p><strong>The Groom’s Best Men &amp; Witnesses</strong>: One of the three best men and witnesses for Matt Bryza was none other than Azerbaijani Foreign Minister <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Elmar Mammadyarov. </span></strong></p>
<p><strong>The Designer Gown &amp; Suit: </strong>The couple purchased their gown &amp; tuxedo from the famous designer Vakko; the total cost for this is said to be over <strong>$10K</strong></p>
<p><strong>The famous quote of the wedding</strong>: <em>This couplehood was formed by the Baku-Ceyhan Pipeline Project</em>- &#8211; - Turkish Energy Minister, Hilmi Guler.</p>
<p>This is just a snapshot of the ultra lavish wedding, which nearly 300 state and private security personnel were hired to serve. The estimated cost for Mr. Bryza’s lavish story-book wedding in Turkey ranges from $150,000 to $250,000. Customarily this amount would have been paid by the bride’s parents. However, neither Mrs. Baran-Bryza’s mother, father, or step-father could or would dish out this amount. Of course, a bill in this amount paid by Matt Bryza would have raised way too many eyebrows here in the US. So what happened? Who did finance this wedding extravaganza?</p>
<p>Be careful. Be very careful. Because when two journalists tried to answer these same questions they ended up being attacked, beaten up, stabbed,  arrested, tortured…and one of them  had to escape the country. That’s right. In Turkey, between Bryza-Baran’s rouge powerful general friends and of even more powerful mafia babas, they made sure no journalist dared venture into these questions. Here in the United States no real bodily force or threat was necessary, since the State Department’s stenographers in the MSM censored the entire episode. However, in Azerbaijan two brave journalists dared, and<a href="http://asbarez.com/82784/tale-of-bryza%E2%80%99s-wedding-and-the-jailed-reporter/"> this</a> is what happened to them:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Did a high-level Azeri official pay for Matthew Bryza’s 2007 wedding to Turkish author Zayna Baran? A swift crackdown on two journalists who reported at the time that the wedding ceremony for President Obama’s current nominee for the US ambassadorship to Baku was funded by Azerbaijan’s Economic Development minister suggests some misconduct.</em></p>
<p><em>In 2007, the editor of opposition newspaper Azatliq, Genimet Zahid and correspondent Adil Khalil were sued over an article entitled “Azerbaijanis Paid for Matthew Bryza’s Wedding.” The article alleges that Azeri Economic Development minister Haydar Babayev paid for a significant portion of Bryza’s wedding, which took place in Istanbul the same year. At the time, Bryza was the US co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group, the body tasked with mediating a peace deal for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>During the appellate process, both of which were ruled in favor of the minister, Khalil was severely beaten and stabbed. Reportedly he fled to France. Meanwhile, Zahid was sentenced to four years in jail on a separate charge of “hooliganism.”Zahid’s lawyers last fall appealed to the International Court of Human Rights, arguing that charges against their client was a violation of Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects freedom of expression. The appeal to the court also charges that the journalists were not granted a fair trial.</em></p>
<p><em>The swift action by Minister Babayev signals that the Azadliq article had merit. The editor’s unwillingness to retract, coupled with the swift court rulings and the subsequent attacks on the journalists, suggest that there was more to Bryza’s Istanbul nuptials than a mere wedding ceremony.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Think about it for a second. The exposé written by the Azerbaijani journalist duo was most damaging to whom? In a country ruled by despots, father Aliyev and now Aliyev the son, riddled by corruption and atrocities, this piece of information does nothing in terms of touching, even coming close to touching, those in power; has no effect &#8211; one scandal among thousands. But how about Bryza-Baran? A neocon operator ready to be appointed as Ambassador to Azerbaijan; not wanting anything to interfere with his confirmation. A mini neocon woman working under a powerful group of Neocons whose eyes have been set on the region; getting ready to make their pipeline dreams come true-fruits of which will be collected by their upper echelon bosses.  How did it go? Did Bryza call his wedding financiers, his best man, his government official guests of honor in Azerbaijan, and ask them to shut these journalists up before the ‘facts’ reach here and get distributed? Or was it Bryza’s mentors and colleagues making the request?</p>
<p>Don’t wait for any new developments to reach here from Azerbaijan: With one of the journalists sitting in jail, the other one hiding in fear somewhere in France (where Turkish ultra-nationalist operators have quite a reach), and of course, the rest of the journalist community getting the message loud and clear, thus not willing to touch upon the scandal…well, it won’t happen. How about here in the US? Not a single reporter is going to follow up on this massive scandal and it’s far reaching implications. When it comes to State Department operatives: ‘can’t touch this.’</p>
<p><strong><em>Matt Bryza: Highly Criticized Role in Russia-Georgia Conflict</em></strong></p>
<p>Let me first provide a little bit of <a href="http://eurodialogue.org/Caucasus-The-War-That-Was-The-World-War-That-Might-Have-Been">background</a> on Bryza’s role in the region, especially in Georgia and Azerbaijan:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>During his four-year stint as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs he has focused on the South Caucasus, and during that period Georgia&#8217;s war budget has ballooned <strong>from $30 million</strong> a year when U.S.-educated <strong>Mikheil Saakashvili</strong> took power after the nation&#8217;s &#8220;Rose Revolution&#8221; in 2004 <strong>to $1 billion </strong>last year, a more than thirty fold increase. In the same year, 2008, Azerbaijan&#8217;s military spending had grown <strong>from $163 million</strong> the preceding year <strong>to $1,850,000,000</strong>, more than a 1000% increase. Much of the money expended for both unprecedented build-ups came from revenues derived from oil sales and transit fees connected with the BTC pipeline <strong>Bryza</strong> was instrumental in setting up.</em><span id="more-2129"></span></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>Regarding neighboring Georgia, a German press report on the second day of last August&#8217;s war between that nation and Russia stated that &#8220;US Special Forces troops, and later US Marines replacing them, have for the last half decade been systematically training selected Georgian units to NATO standards&#8221; and &#8220;First-line Georgian soldiers wear NATO uniforms, kevlar helmets and body armour matching US issue, and carry the US-manufactured M-16 automatic rifle&#8230;.&#8221; On the first day of the war the Chairman of the Russia&#8217;s State Duma Security Committee, <strong>Vladimir Vasilyev</strong>, denounced the fact that the Georgian President <strong>Saakashvili</strong> &#8220;undertook consistent steps to increase [Georgia's] military budget from $US 30 million to $US 1 billion &#8211; Georgia was preparing for a military action.” </em></p></blockquote>
<p>And here is how Turkey ties into this:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>An Armenian news source the same day detailed that &#8220;<strong>Most of Georgia&#8217;s officers were trained in the U.S. or Turkey</strong>. The country&#8217;s military expenses increased by 30 times during past four years, making up 9-10 per cent of the GDP. The defense budget has reached $1 billion.&#8221;U.S. military grants to Georgia total $40.6 million. NATO member states, including <strong>Turkey</strong> and Bulgaria, supplied Georgia with 175 tanks, 126 armored carriers, 67 artillery pieces, 4 warplanes, 12 helicopters, 8 ships and boats. 100 armored carriers, 14 jets (including 4 Mirazh-2000) fighters, 15 Black Hawk helicopters and 10 various ships are expected to be conveyed soon.&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>…</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Bryza</em></strong><em>&#8216;s assistance to the <strong>Saakashvili </strong>government has also extended to backing it in its armed conflicts with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which in the second case escalated into all-out war a year ago.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>The following appeared in the <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121885135947146439.html?mod=googlenews_wsj">Wall Street Journal</a> in August 2008, albeit with an attempt to portray Bryza’s role more positively:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>When Russian tanks rolled out of South Ossetia and into Georgia proper Monday, triggering fears of a full-scale invasion, a man began furiously shoving U.S. diplomat Matthew J. Bryza around the lobby of the Marriott Tbilisi, the capital&#8217;s fanciest hotel. &#8220;It&#8217;s your fault too,&#8221; shouted Georgy Khaindrava, a former Georgian minister for conflict resolution. &#8220;If you hadn&#8217;t propped up Misha Magariya [Misha the strong], we wouldn&#8217;t have tanks here now,&#8221; he said, referring to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>The affable Mr. Bryza has developed a reputation as a hard-liner on Russia&#8217;s actions towards the former states of the Soviet Union and a staunch defender of both Georgia and the 40-year-old Mr. Saakashvili, with whom he has a close personal relationship.Critics say that has complicated the U.S.-Georgian relationship, possibly diluting State Department warnings to Tbilisi against engaging in a military confrontation with Russia. Some say there were signs for months that Russia was laying a trap for Mr. Saakashvili.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Do you remember the short-lived justified <a href="http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/08/behind_the_scenes_scheunemann.php">frenzy</a> over Randy Scheunemann, John McCain’s top foreign policy advisor, and his role involving Georgia? Guess who was one of Scheunemann’s points of ‘frequent’ contact at the State Department?</p>
<blockquote><p><em>So let&#8217;s take a look at what Scheuneman was actually doing in that role &#8212; which helped earn his firm nearly $900,000 since 2004. Lobbying for a foreign government is a vaguely defined task that involves cultivating contacts, trying to shape perception and influence key decisions. For Georgia, the goal was clear &#8212; to get on track for NATO membership and secure western backing against Russian influence and aggression. Schuenemann&#8217;s dual role of paid foreign agent (as recently as March) and key adviser to a presidential candidate is unusual, especially since McCain has not indicated that Scheunemann will recuse himself from Georgia issues.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>As a paid foreign agent, Scheunemann and his lobbying firm, Orion Strategies, filed </em><a href="http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal/fara/links/search.html"><em>disclosure reports</em></a><em> with the Department of Justice, which offer some insight into the process of exercising influence in Washington. Scheunemann spent a lot of time working the phones, talking to key Bush Administration officials about Georgia&#8217;s efforts to join NATO. He often spoke to Ambassador </em><a href="http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/biog/54108.htm"><em>John Tefft </em></a><em>who heads the U.S. embassy in Georgia, as well as </em><a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/dfried-bio.html"><em>Dan Fried</em></a><em> and </em><a href="http://www.state.gov/p/eur/rls/or/48913.htm"><strong><em>Matt Bryza</em></strong></a><em> at the State Department…</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Now let’s hear from the <a href="http://tbilisiblues.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html">people</a> on the ground on Bryza; the people of Georgia and what they think of Matthew Bryza:</p>
<blockquote>
<div><em>People filed into the Boris Paichadze National Stadium from all over Tbilisi. Unlike the sour grapes that had been standing on Rustavli Avenue for the past month, these people were smiling and light-hearted, at first. One man in his 50s walked by and gave me the wooden eye treatment, stopped, deliberated for a moment, came back and let me have it.</em></div>
<p><em>&#8220;Where are you from?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;America.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Bandits,&#8221; he said. &#8220;A nation of criminals. <strong>Bryza </strong>has support of only two percent, two percent of the people. He&#8217;s <strong>a faggot and a liar</strong>. And Saakashvili, the faggot; he&#8217;s got to go.&#8221;</p>
<p>It was the first time I had heard Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Matthew Bryza&#8217;s name mentioned on the streets of Tbilisi and had no idea what 2 % the gentleman was talking about.</p>
<p></em><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>Back in 2005, Shalva said Bryza’s biased reporting on Georgia and support of the Saakashvili administration undermined both the promotion of democracy in the region and ties between the U.S. and Georgia. He called on the US State dept. to sack him. When he failed to get a visa to Great Britian in February this year, he said UK Ambassador Denis Keefe had conspired against him with Saakashvili, and also demanded Keefe’s dismissal.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p><strong><em>Bryza’s Car Accident, His Victim in a Coma &amp; Never-Answered Questions</em></strong></p>
<p>In August 1997 Matthew Bryza caused yet another major <a href="http://www.friends-partners.org/friends/news/omri/1997/08/970822I.html(opt,mozilla,unix,russian,koi8,new)">scandal</a> for the US government when he hit and seriously injured a pedestrian while driving under highly questionable circumstances:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>The U.S. State Department on 20 August announced plans to recall <strong>Matthew Bryza</strong>, a second secretary of the U.S. embassy in Moscow, who two days earlier had been driving a car that hit and critically injured a Moscow pedestrian.</em><em> Nesterushkin said the criminal case against Bryza will remain open as police continue investigating the accident. Bryza cannot be prosecuted unless the U.S. lifts his immunity. In February, Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze lifted the immunity of a Georgian diplomat who caused a car accident in Washington that killed one woman. That diplomat is currently in pre-trial detention in the U.S.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p>
<p><em>A U.S. diplomat has seriously injured a woman in a car accident in Moscow, the City Law Enforcement Department told Interfax Tuesday. The car, an Isuzu Trooper driven by Second Secretary of the U.S. Embassy Matthew Bryza, 33, hit an unidentified woman near house 13 Ul. Panferova, the Southwestern precinct, at 10:00 p.m. Moscow time Monday, police have reported. The woman, about 30 years old, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. She is in a coma.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Now, interestingly and mysteriously, the reports and results of the criminal investigations into this accident never came to light, and later quietly disappeared. By the way, the United States government never lifted Bryza’s immunity! Based on the buzz circulating at the time ‘<em>they didn’t want anything out there regarding Bryza’s alcohol &amp; narcotics status…</em>’ The rumors included dependency on cocaine and alcohol, but again, a tight lid was put on any media follow-up on this in the US. Considering the <a href="http://asbarez.com/83498/will-senate-call-bryza-to-task-for-running-woman-down/">grave consequences</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>On Thursday, Matthew Bryza will face a Senate panel to begin the confirmation process for his nomination as US Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Will senators question Bryza for his role in a 1997 car accident, which left a woman in a coma? Or, will Bryza avoid responsibility?</em></p>
<p><em>The Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and other press sources at the time reported that on August 18, 1997, Bryza hit a woman, who was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries. The US response to this incident was to recall Bryza back to the States and express “regret” for the victim. James Rubin, the official spokesman for the State Department at the time said that the decision to recall Bryza from Moscow was made in connection with the fact that the diplomat “is no longer able to work efficiently in Moscow because of this incident.”</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Again, you’d think with the location being set in Russia in the mid 90s, the fairly high-level government status of the perpetrator, the serious injuries of the victim who was put in a coma, the efforts to keep the name of the victim out of the press, the buzz regarding drug and alcohol…all that would make front-page news here in the US; no? Well, it didn’t. And, here is how Bryza was promoted later, after his scandalous recall from his position:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>At the time of the incident, none other than Richard Hoagland, a press spokesman for the US Embassy in Moscow at the time had this to say about Bryza: “I also want to say something about Matt Bryza who comes across in the press reports about this incident as all but a monster. Matt was one of the brightest, most polite, most promising young diplomats at the American Embassy in Moscow. While we have to have compassion for the woman who was injured in this accident, I think it’s important we have compassion for Matt, too, who has suffered the double trauma of having been involved in a traffic accident and of having had his diplomatic career in Moscow abruptly yanked out from under him.”</em></p>
<p><em>Hoagland was President George W. Bush’s nominee for the US ambassadorial post in Armenia. His nomination was blocked by Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey, due to Hoagland’s continued insistence to deny the Armenian Genocide. Bush subsequently pulled Hoagland’s nomination.</em></p>
<p><em>Bryza was then appointed to be the US co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group and developed close ties with Azeri elite in Baku. News of a high-ranking Azeri minister allegedly paying for Bryza’s wedding to Turkish scholar Zeyno Baran was reported by the Azeri press, after which the editor and reporter of the newspaper were jailed and attacked.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Here is another good question: What did we give the Russians to not raise a diplomatic incident; to make them make ‘<em>it</em>’ go away?!</p>
<p>We all know what close ties Bryza developed with the corrupt ruling elites, including the Aliyev clan! So is there any wonder how those two brave journalists who exposed the ‘<em>real financing</em>’ of Bryza’s wedding ended up beaten up by elite hired guns, and later tortured and jailed? Hmmmm.</p>
<p>I could triple this article’s length to cover the Father &amp; Son Aliyevs, the Kingdom we’ve groomed and planted in Azerbaijan, the nation we’ve helped turn into one of the top 30 corrupt countries in the world, the embezzlement and corruption cases we’ve helped create there… and, I will; it  will be another lengthy piece similar to those on Kyrgyzstan’s <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2010/07/18/another-%e2%80%98viable%e2%80%99-candidate-bites-the-dust-%e2%80%a6/#comments">Bakiyev Clan</a>, Pakistan’s <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2009/06/23/state-department-seeks-%e2%80%98viable%e2%80%99-iranian-candidates/">Bhutto-Zardari Duo</a>, and Turkey’s <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2009/06/23/state-department-seeks-%e2%80%98viable%e2%80%99-iranian-candidates/">Ciller</a>. Needless to say, the cozy ties between Bryza and corrupt Azeri officials, the ‘contributions’ he’s been receiving from them &#8211; including making his lavish wedding dreams come true, his ‘pure luck’ in getting the Azeri journalists…certainly come together nicely, forming a picture that makes complete sense!<br />
<strong>………………………………………………………………………………</strong></p>
<p>Bryza <a href="http://www.reporter.am/go/article/2010-07-22-state-dept--official-denies-anti-armenia-bias-backs-aid-to-karabakh">testified</a> before  the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on July 22. His grilling, while not comprehensive and tough enough, rattled him enough to come across as unconvincing:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Citing Congressional Research Service (CRS), Sen. Boxer also asked why U.S. aid programs in Karabakh were limited to an average of $2 million a year, even though Congress allocated about $8 million annually.Bryza confirmed lower than allocated spending but did not explain it. Instead he said that he supported disbursal of all allocated funds, noting that they have gone for de-mining, housing, schools and water supply projects. In response to the senator&#8217;s request, Bryza promised a detailed report on the aid program.</em></p>
<p><strong>…</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>So the guy doesn’t know what happened to the remaining $6,000,000! Interesting! Is this related to being out of touch with the areas falling under his direct responsibility? Is it related to ‘whatever’ influences he was under in 1997 when he hit a woman and put her in coma? Maybe we’ll find out more later, that is if the media here follows up on this.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Speaking in references to his comments on territorial integrity, Bryza claimed that he was only following the policy language used by Vice President <strong>Richard Cheney</strong> in September 2008. (In fact, </em><a href="http://www.reporter.am/go/article/2008-10-16-armenia-takes-issue-with-bush-administration-s-rhetoric-on-karabakh"><em>Bryza first made similar comments in August</em></a><em>, shortly after the Georgia war and before Cheney.)</em></p></blockquote>
<p>There he goes again; this time blaming it on his old boss, yet forgetting his on-the-record record! Is he treating the members of this particular committee as morons? Maybe. Or is this again related to his ‘<em>conditions</em>’ which were never followed-up on by the press?</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Sen. <strong>Jeanne Shaheen</strong> (D-N.H.), who chaired the hearing, referred to </em><a href="http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jul/20/embassy-row-262510158/"><em>The </em><em>Washington Times</em><em> report</em></a><em> that cited close ties between Bryza and senior Azerbaijani officials and allegations of potential conflict of interest. She also raised the issue of Azerbaijani regime&#8217;s crackdown on its opponents.Bryza responded that his finances have been thoroughly investigated as part of the nomination process and no improprieties were found. He also denied an Azerbaijani media report that claimed that his wedding expenses were covered by Azerbaijani officials. (Azerbaijani journalist who originally made the claim was subsequently violently assaulted and has since fled abroad.)</em></p></blockquote>
<p>Can you believe how unconvincing a supposed savvy diplomat can be! Who investigated his finances? What was submitted? How about his wife’s long-list of assets in Turkey where they will be protected due to her Turkish citizenship status and mafia backing? The financing of his wedding is a slam-dunk obvious, the question is who in the US media will dare to investigate, or at least translate those reports produced by other nations’ gutsy reporters! And, how about his role in insuring the ultimate punishment for journalists in Azerbaijan who happened to ‘<em>expose</em>’ him and his neocon damsel?!</p>
<p>We have another month or so before Bryza appears before the Congress again, and hopefully much more will come to light between now and then. By this I mean mainly the ‘foreign press’;-) But the real issue here is this newly hatched Neocon’s nomination by the current President in the first place. Is President Obama that keen and committed to keeping and or bringing back known neocons? Is it that this President is unable to find any clean non-Neocon candidates for strategically very important positions like this? Is this President (and his advisors) simply too  ignorant to disregard tons of alarming,  improper, eye-brow raising, embarrassing …background and current facts about the candidate he nominated for this ambassadorship?!</p>
<p>Well, you be the judge, but please do more than that. You may want to call or write your representative and make sure that he or she gets all these facts on Mr. Matthew Bryza and his infamous spouse Zeyno Baran. You never know; with enough people talking, writing, and calling, some right decision may find its way into this upcoming confirmation.<br />

<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: right; padding: 3px 6px 3px 6px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/mizginslogo2.gif" alt="Mizginslogo2" />Our first look at the life of Richard Armitage, the new American Turkish Council chairman, focused on his adventures in <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2009/11/11/armitage-part-i-the-early-years-the-golden-triangle/"target="_blank">Southeast Asia</a>. Today we&#8217;ll look at his history in Washington.</p>
<p>Back in Washington in 1980, Armitage served as a foreign policy advisor to President-elect Ronald Reagan, and was soon appointed by Reagan to the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia and Pacific Affairs. Armitage held that position from 1981 until 1983, when he was promoted to the position of Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy. Wikipedia has a list of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Armitage_(politician)"target="_blank">the duties</a> associated with Armitage&#8217;s position as Assistant Secretary of Defense. He held this position until 1989.</p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/armitagescowcroft.jpg" alt="ArmitageScrowcroft" />During this time, Armitage became involved with US arms shipments from Israel to Iran that eventually became known as the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Contra_affair"target="_blank">Iran-Contra Affair</a>. In <a href="http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/walsh/part_i.htm"target="_blank">a report</a> by Independent Counsel Lawrence Walsh, it was determined that US weapons were, in fact, delivered to the Islamic Republic of Iran by Israel on behalf of the US. Neoconservative Michael Ledeen and Iranian businessman Manucher Ghorbanifar facilitated links between the US, Israel, and Iran and they would be mentioned years later when a subsequent US administration sought to manufacture evidence of yellowcake sales to Iraq.</p>
<p>LTC Oliver North modified the original plan of arms sales to Iran in order to divert money to the Nicaraguan Contras and it is through North that Armitage became entangled in the affair. According to the History Commons, with links to reports by the Independent Counsel on Iran-Contra Affairs:</p>
<p>&#8220;National Security Council (NSC) officer Oliver North has become far more outspoken among government officials about his illegal funding of the Nicaraguan Contras (see May 16, 1986). During a meeting of his Restricted Interagency Group (RIG—see Late 1985 and After), CIA official Alan Fiers, a member of the group, is discomfited at North’s straightforward listing of the many activities that he is causing to be conducted on behalf of the Contras, everything from supplying aircraft to paying salaries. Fiers is even less sanguine about North’s frank revelations about using illegally solicited private funding for the Contras (see May 16, 1986). North goes down the list, asking if each activity should be continued or terminated, and, according to Fiers, making it very clear that he can cause his Contra support program (which he now calls PRODEM, or “Project Democracy”) to respond as he directs. North also begins arranging, through Assistant Secretary of State Elliott Abrams, for $2 million in stopgap funding for the project. North will confirm the $2 million in an e-mail to NSC Director John Poindexter. North will conduct similar meetings in August and September 1986, at least one of which will include Assistant Defense Secretary Richard Armitage (see July 22, 1987) and other Defense Department officials (see November 13, 1990). It is not until Fiers testifies in 1991 about North’s behaviors that verification of North’s discussion of such specifics about Contra activities and funding will be made public (see July 17, 1991).&#8221;</p>
<p>In September, 1986, North brought up for discussion in an RIG meeting in Armitage&#8217;s office the fact that the Panamanian dictator, Manuel Noriega, would be willing to conduct sabotage inside Nicaragua for money. The discussion focuses on the possibility of paying Noriega from private funds. The offer is ultimately rejected.<span id="more-1048"></span></p>
<p>In July, 1987, Armitage failed to recall anything:</p>
<p>&#8220;Assistant Secretary of Defense Richard Armitage, who has attended some of Oliver North’s Restricted Interagency Group (RIG) meetings (see Late 1985 and After and July 1986 and After), testifies before the Joint House-Senate Committee investigating Iran-Contra (see May 5, 1987). Armitage is asked about RIG meetings in which North recited a list of his activities in coordinating the Contras, discussed the private funding of the Contras, and demanded item-by-item approval from group members: “[D]o you recall, regardless of what dates, regardless of where it was, regardless of whether it had exactly the players he said—because he could have gotten all that wrong—do you recall any meeting at which he did anything close to what his testimony suggests?” Armitage replies, “I do not.” It is not until RIG member Alan Fiers, a former CIA official, testifies in 1991 about North’s behaviors that verification of North’s discussion of such specifics about Contra activities and funding will be made public (see July 17, 1991).&#8221;</p>
<p>The Office of the Independent Council eventually <a href="http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/walsh/execsum.htm"target="_blank">decided not to prosecute</a> Armitage for his role in the Iran-Contra Affair:</p>
<p>&#8220;The notes demonstrated that Weinberger&#8217;s early testimony &#8212; that he had only vague and generalized information about Iran arms sales in 1985 &#8212; was false, and that he in fact had detailed information on the proposed arms sales and the actual deliveries. The notes also revealed that Gen. Colin Powell, Weinberger&#8217;s senior military aide, and Richard L. Armitage, assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, also had detailed knowledge of the 1985 shipments from Israeli stocks. Armitage and Powell had testified that they did not learn of the November 1985 HAWK missile shipment until 1986. </p>
<p>[ . . . ]</p>
<p>&#8220;There was little evidence that Powell&#8217;s early testimony regarding the 1985 shipments and Weinberger&#8217;s notes was willfully false. Powell cooperated with the various Iran/contra investigations and, when his recollection was refreshed by Weinberger&#8217;s notes, he readily conceded their accuracy. Independent Counsel declined to prosecute Armitage because the OIC&#8217;s limited resources were focused on the case against Weinberger and because the evidence against Armitage, while substantial, did not reach the threshold of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.&#8221;</p>
<p>As a result of the conclusions of the Independent Council, we may assume that Armitage received a less than honorable exoneration in this scandal. Shortly afterwards, Armitage became entangled in <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/1989/05/26/us/bush-s-selection-as-secretary-of-army-withdraws-to-avoid-grilling.html"target="_blank">another scandal</a> which forced him to withdraw his name from consideration by George H. W. Bush as the Secretary of the Army:</p>
<p>&#8220;Richard L. Armitage, President Bush&#8217;s choice as Secretary of the Army, withdrew his name from consideration today rather than undergo confirmation hearings expected to include questions about his role in the Iran-contra affair and his relationship with a woman convicted of illegal gambling.</p>
<p>&#8220;Over the past two years, Mr. Armitage has been the focus of repeated allegations about his private life, some of them published by the columnist Jack Anderson. The Texas industrialist H. Ross Perot joined the fray in 1987 when he complained to then Vice President Bush of Mr. Armitage&#8217;s possible involvement in drug operations when he served in the Vietnam War.</p>
<p>&#8220;Mr. Armitage has denied the charges. He was out of town today and could not be reached for comment. He withdrew so that he could spend more time with his wife and eight children, said a Pentagon spokesman.</p>
<p>[ . . . ]</p>
<p>&#8220;Mr. Armitage&#8217;s withdrawal, which came before his name was formally submitted to the Senate represented a surprising reversal. Just two weeks ago, he had been providing Democratic senators with a detailed written rebuttal of the allegations relating to Vietnam and Ms. O&#8217;Rourke. Mr. Armitage told senators he was ready to refute the charges personally at his confirmation hearings, a Senate aide said.&#8221;</p>
<p>Frank Carlucci, National Security Advisor at the time, asked Ross Perot in secret to drop <a href="http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1356&#038;dat=19870223&#038;id=zJ0TAAAAIBAJ&#038;sjid=mAYEAAAAIBAJ&#038;pg=4063,3895362"target="_blank">his investigation</a> of Armitage&#8217;s involvement with Nguyet O&#8217;Rourke and her connections to organized crime. Both Carlucci and Armitage would later serve as <a href="http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/10_09_01_carlyle.html"target="_blank">board members</a> of the <a href="http://www.mepc.org/"target="_blank">Middle East Policy Council</a>.</p>
<p>During the Gulf War, <a href="http://www.armitageinternational.com/team/member.php?id=1"target="_blank">Armitage served</a> as a special emmissary to the King of Jordan and later in the 1990s he &#8220;directed US assistance to the new independent states (NIS) of the former Soviet Union.&#8221; In 1996, the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce was established in Washington with Armitage on its <a href="http://azer.com/aiweb/categories/magazine/41_folder/41_articles/41_chamberofcommerce.html"target="_blank">board of directors</a>. Other board members included John Imle of Unocal while Zbigniew Brzezinski served the USACC as an Honorary Council Advisor. By the end of the 1990s, Armitage would have served as a <a href="http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Central_Asia/KE14Ag02.html"target="_blank">lobbyist for Unocal</a> at a time that Unocal was <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/west_asia/37021.stm"target="_blank">courting the Taliban</a> in Texas in order to win a pipeline bid to move Turkmenistani gas through Afghanistan to Pakistan. </p>
<p>It was in 1997, too, that Armitage &#8220;went <a href="http://www.fpif.org/fpiftxt/940"target="_blank">to Burma</a> on a trip sponsored by the Burma/Myanmar Forum, a Washington group with major funding from UNOCAL.&#8221; Burmese villagers filed a <a href="http://www.thenation.com/doc/20050509/eviatar"target="_blank">lawsuit</a> against Unocal for human rights abuses. Armitage was <a href="http://www.freepress.org/journal.php?strFunc=display&#038;strID=54&#038;strJournal=10"target="_blank">implicated</a> in the lawsuit. Hamid Karzai and Zalmay Khalilzad were, like Armitage, also affiliated with Unocal. Karzai was a representative of Unocal in Afghanistan while Khalilzad was an advisor to Unocal and participated in its talks with the Taliban.</p>
<p>Armitage and Khalilzad were both signatories of the <a href="http://www.newamericancentury.org/iraqclintonletter.htm"target="_blank">PNAC letter</a> to President Clinton in 1998 which outlined the policy of &#8220;containment&#8221; of Saddam Hussein that would be adopted by the Bush administration in its war against Iraq after 11 September, 2001. Before those attacks, however, Armitage would be called back to public service by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vulcans"target="_blank">The Vulcans</a>.</p>

<p><em><strong>Once Upon a Time a General…</strong></em></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/GeneralWardak.png" alt="GeneralWardak" />Once upon a time there was an Afghani general named Abdul Rahim Wardak. He had studied in both US and Egyptian military schools before joining the army in Afghanistan. In the 1980s, a few years after he joined the army, he decided to defect and joined the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mujahideen">Mujahideen</a> movement. We don’t know exactly who in the United States gave him the order to defect, because no one is willing to go on record. However, we know very well that due to their fight against the Communist Soviet Union, the Mujahideen were significantly financed, armed, and trained by the CIA, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, along with several other not as significant nations. We also know that back then, when we were supporting, financing, training and cheering for the Mujahideen as ‘freedom fighters,’ those labeled today as terrorist evil-doer radicals, Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban, were viewed and treated as our allies and entourage. </p>
<p>Now, back to our General. He joined the National Islamic Front of Afghanistan arm of the Mujahideen and fought against the Soviets. Interestingly, during those years, the mid to late 80s,  our general Wardak was brought to the United States and coached to testify before the US Congress; not once but several times. He was even flown to the US once to receive medical treatment for a wound he received from a scud missile. I am sure you are savvy enough to know that this was considered ‘<em>highly special’</em> treatment for a Mujahideen fighter in Afghanistan. Our general was truly loved when it came to our CIA and certain high-level people within the Reagan Administration.</p>
<p>So how good of a military officer was Mr. Wardak? Not a good one &#8211; and this assessment seems to be pretty much unanimous. In fact, this is how he’s been known in that part of the world: “<em>… in the 1980’s, he had garnered a reputation as one of the least accomplished commanders of the American-backed Mujahideen resistance to Soviet occupation forces</em>.” If you enter the circles within the Washington DC Afghani diaspora, and if you get close enough to hear the hushed comments, you’d be able to make out words like ‘corrupt,’ ‘ties to drug-running warlords,’ or ‘Afghan mafia.’ But for some ‘mysterious’ reasons our Central Intelligence Agency and hard-core Neocons within our foreign policy arena had deemed this general ultra special and important…</p>
<p><strong><em>*And the story continues…</em></strong></p>
<p><em><strong>Once Upon a Time a Godmother of Neocons…</strong></em></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/JeaneKirkpatrick.png" alt="JeaneKirkpatrick" />Once Upon a time there was a woman named Jeane Kirkpatrick, who didn’t really look like a woman but it never mattered, in fact it may have helped her. Jeane was a Democrat, and then, later, she became a Republican. She was on President Reagan’s National Security Council, on the Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board, and of course the Defense Policy Review Board. She became the US Ambassador to the United Nations; appointed by President Reagan. Ms. Kirkpatrick was a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). She was a hard-core anti-communist, and she was a hawk. But most importantly, she was the woman whom people considered and labeled <em>the Godmother of Neocons</em>.</p>
<p>Ms. Kirkpatrick died in 2006, and here is a widely witnessed <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/jeane-kirkpatrick-427999.html">account</a> of those who shed the most tears:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>Until the end, she was a cherished mentor to the neo-conservatives. John Bolton &#8211; Bush&#8217;s outgoing ambassador to the UN and of all her successors there the one who most closely resembled her &#8211; publicly wept as he paid tribute to her last week. Perhaps the tears were at the rubble of his President&#8217;s Iraq policy, but also for a remarkable woman.</em>”</p></blockquote>
<p>Before her death, her final ‘known’ government <a href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/jeane-kirkpatrick-427999.html">mission</a> was to help pave the way for our preemptive attack on Iraq in 2002:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>…in a final mission, kept secret until her death, to meet Arab envoys in Geneva in 2003 to win them over to the impending invasion of Iraq. Her instructions were to argue that pre-emptive war was justified. But Kirkpatrick knew it wouldn&#8217;t work. Instead she made the case that Saddam Hussein had flouted the UN too long and too often.</em>”</p></blockquote>
<p>Jeane Kirkpatrick, true to her Grand Neocon title, was a strong believer of ‘the end justifies the means.’ She vehemently disagreed with Secretary of State George Schultz on the <a title="Iran-Contra affair" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran-Contra_affair">Iran-Contra affair</a>, in which she supported skimming money off arms sales to fund the Contras. Everything was kosher to her, whether drugs or illegal arms sales, as long as these means served what she considered to be the goal; an imperial US.</p>
<p>Ms. Kirkpatrick similarly, in fact more vehemently, supported our operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan in the 80s where we backed and trained the Mujahideen against the Soviets.  Just like what we sanctioned in Nicaragua, in Afghanistan all deals, no matter how insane or unsavory, were <em>means</em>’ to justify the <em>end</em>. This was one of her mottos most cherished by the hawks and the neocons:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>Traditional authoritarian governments are less repressive than revolutionary autocracies.</em>”</p></blockquote>
<p>What went unsaid in that quote, but meant and practiced was: Radical Islam, the Taliban, their Madrasas, their terrorizing of women, their heroin business…are perfectly all right, as long as they are on our side, in our camp, on our payroll, instead of on the other side.</p>
<p>Following her ‘direct’ government career, she returned to academia at Georgetown University where for some reason many well-known Neocons, such as James Woolsey and Douglas Feith, chose to flock. And very characteristically our Jeane Patrick continued her contribution to the practice of Neocon-ism…</p>
<p><strong><em>*And the story continues…</em></strong></p>
<p><em><strong>Once Upon a Time a spook…</strong></em></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/MiltonBearden.png" alt="MiltonBearden" />Once upon a time there was man named Milton Bearden, commonly referred to as Milt. He spent his early years in the state of Washington where his father worked on the Manhattan Project. After a few years with the US Air Force he joined the CIA in 1964.</p>
<p>Milt was CIA’s chosen man for their operations in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In fact, from 1986 to 1989, when our country was supporting the Mujahideen, he was one of their main men on the ground, working with this coalition of the Taliban, the Saudis and their main man Bin Laden, and the Pakistani ISI. The Director of the CIA, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Casey">William Casey</a>, was the one who appointed Milt Bearden for this task. Here is Milt’s own words <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Power_of_Nightmares">describing</a> his importance in a not very unusual ex-CIA conceited manner:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>For Casey Afghanistan seemed to be possibly one of the keys and so he tapped me one day to go. he said &#8216;I want you to go to Afghanistan, I want you to go next month and I will give you what ever you need to Win.&#8221; To win, yeah he said: &#8220;I want you to go out there and win&#8221; As opposed to &#8216;let&#8217;s go there and bleed these guys and make it be a Vietnam&#8217;, I want you to go and win and whatever you need you can have. He gave me the Stinger Missiles and a billion Dollars!&#8221;</em></p></blockquote>
<p>He must have done extremely well since he was promoted to CIA Station Chief in Pakistan. In fact he must have done exceedingly well since he was later appointed the chief of the Soviet/East European Division during the collapse of the Soviet Union, and received three glowing medals from the CIA for services rendered.<span id="more-693"></span></p>
<p>Milt’s cushy CIA retirement and all those glowing medals must not have been enough, for he then engaged in frenzied marketing and self promotion to get himself entrenched in almost all major US networks and newspapers as a consultant, writer, advisor, and of course as a <em>trusted source</em> &#8211; a CIA source to provide quotes and information for <em>scripts</em> at the snap of a finger. He coauthored a book with New York Times reporter James Risen called <em>The Main Enemy.</em> Whether this kind of business arrangement, where a commonly used source partners up with a reporter, presents a conflict of interest or even could be called incestuous, is everyone else’s call. </p>
<p>Most interestingly Mr. Bearden seemed to have lured in the American mainstream media by presenting himself as an outspoken critique of the Bush White House Intelligence policies after the September 11 terrorists’ attack. He suddenly became a major spokesperson on ‘<em>how we created this monster called Osama Bin Laden,’ </em>and the nasty radical Taliban.  And the mainstream media couldn’t get enough of him. Ironically, he happened to be the man after William Casey and Neocons’ Jeane Kirkpatrick’s own hearts in creating the Bin Laden monster, bolstering the radical Taliban brand of Islamism in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and kosherizing all dirty deeds as <em>means</em> to justify the <em>end(s)</em>.  He didn’t get those medals or promotions for nothing!</p>
<p>Not only that, Mr. Bearden’s speeches and writings seemed to have received the approval of the CIA and the Bush administration. As we all know you don’t get to publish uncensored and unredacted books as an ex-CIA man unless they want you to. This didn’t seem to raise a single eyebrow in the US media or pseudo activist organizations and think tanks.</p>
<p>While cashing in on his CIA past and government approved public persona within the US media, he quietly began to court the Ex-Taliban carpetbagger crowd in Washington DC in order to tap in to the billions of dollars war market cookie jars…</p>
<p><strong><em>*And the story continues…</em></strong></p>
<p><em><strong>The son, and then the circle all came together…</strong></em></p>
<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/FourPhotosCollage.jpg" alt="FourPhotoCollage" />Our General Wardak disappeared from the Afghan scene at the beginning of the civil war in the 1990s. He brought his family to the United States where he settled comfortably with enough wealth from undetermined sources, and he enrolled his son, Hamed, in Georgetown University.</p>
<p>Hamed Wardak, a quite chubby and ambitious young man, arrived at Georgetown University, and by the time he got to his senior level he was taken under the wings of one of his professors as her protégé. That professor was none other than our Jeane Kirkpatrick, the proud Godmother of the Neocons. Our savvy readers will understand that this was not due to chance and Hamed’s stars being all aligned. After all, his General father had done his job well serving Kirkpatrick’s and other Neocons’ foreign policy objectives at all costs in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As mentioned earlier, his General father was flown to the US several times and coached by this crowd to give speeches before the US Congress to obtain funds for their overt and covert operations involving the Saudis, Pakistanis and Taliban. So no, these relationships don’t evaporate and disappear. Wardak and his family were accommodated quite well after they were brought to the US, and the Neocons’ future plans for Afghanistan would have plenty of roles for the Wardak family to fill.</p>
<p>Wardak Junior was a known figure among the radical pro-Taliban sympathizers in Washington DC circles. Here are a few quotes from an excellent <a href="http://www.e-ariana.com/ariana/eariana.nsf/allArticles/083BC022E34969ED87257391000669B6?OpenDocument">piece</a> written on the Wardak(s) and Karzai(s):</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>During this period, he flirted with pro-Taliban sympathies, due both to his ethnic Pashtun fervor and peer pressure from young DC-area extremists.</em></p>
<p><em>Gradually, however, Hamed came under the influence of Kirkpatrick’s philosophical soul mates, notably Marin Strmecki, a Republican essayist and political facilitator with the Smith Richardson Foundation. Strmecki worked at the Pentagon under Dick Cheney in the first Bush administration, along with Lewis “Scooter” Libby – and Zalmay Khalilzad. It was during Hamed Wardak’s reappraisal of the world, via these American political heavyweights, that he came into contact with a group of upwardly-mobile players on Washington’s Afghan-American scene: the Karzais; specifically, two of the six Karzai boys – Qayum and Mahmood. Unlike their younger brother Hamid, who had spent much of his life in Pakistan, Mahmood and Qayum were accomplished US-based businessmen.”</em></p></blockquote>
<p>The Karzai brothers took a great interest in Wardak Junior, and he enjoyed the benefits of the Karzais’ flashy and high-flying friends. After the September 11 Terror Attacks, the Karzais made Hamed the Vice President of the Afghan-American Chamber of Commerce, which was founded by Mahmood Karzai. As I mentioned briefly in my <a href="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/2009/11/02/neocon-ex-congressman-his-%e2%80%98laundering%e2%80%99-business-in-afghanistan/">piece</a>, our Neocon Ex-Congressman Don Ritter happens to be the co-founder of this organization. Hamed was also appointed to an advisor’s post with President Karzai’s first Finance Minister, Ashraf Ghani. No small accomplishment for the barely 30 year old Hamed!</p>
<p>Hamed Wardak’s most productive venture in tapping into the US Defense Sector Pot(s) of Gold began with joining a Washington DC contracting firm, Technologists Inc., founded by Aziz Azimi, who happened to be a very close buddy of Qayum Karzai. Here is a further detail on this by <a href="http://www.e-ariana.com/ariana/eariana.nsf/allArticles/083BC022E34969ED87257391000669B6?OpenDocument">e-Ariana</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>Hamed Wardak’s new alliances proved extraordinarily advantageous as George W. Bush launched his “war on terror,” particularly with Khalilzad and Strmecki enjoying direct access to Vice-President Dick Cheney’s office</em>.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Do you want to check out the kind of contracts, the kind of millions, we are talking about with Technologists Inc.? Here is <a href="http://www.militaryindustrialcomplex.com/contract_detail.asp?contract_id=7142">one</a> for you:</p>
<blockquote><p>Technologists, Inc., Rosslyn, Va., was awarded on Jan. 5, 2009, a $96,090,519 firm fixed price contract for the construction of an Afghanistan National Police National Training Center. Work will be performed in Maydan Wardak, Afghanistan, and is expected to be completed by Mar. 31, 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Web bids were solicited on Oct. 1, 2008, and 13 bids were received. U.S. Army Engineer District, Afghanistan, is the contracting activity (W917PM-09-C-0005).</p></blockquote>
<p>That’s right. Just one of these contracts is worth nearly $100 million for connected Afghan carpetbaggers cashing in on wars suffered by ordinary American tax payers and US soldiers.</p>
<p>Back to the Wardaks and Karzais:</p>
<p>…</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>By the time Khalilzad took up his ambassadorship to Kabul in Dec. 2004, Strmecki had been appointed Rumsfeld’s “Afghanistan Policy Co-ordinator.” That same month, Karzai removed his Minister of Defence, the Northern Alliance’s Mohammed Fahim, a Tajik. Faim’s replacement: Rahim Wardak.</em>”</p></blockquote>
<p>You heard it right. Our General Wardak was promoted and taken back to Afghanistan to serve in Karzai’s regime as the Minister of Defense. Was he given citizenship when he was brought back to the US to settle? No one is really talking. Did anyone in Afghanistan question having US citizens in their quasi democratic government posts? No one in the US media is reporting. If you are trusted within the Afghan diaspora in the DC area you’ll hear hushed comments about Wardak, his corrupt practices, and the rumors, fairly consistent rumors, of his close connections to the poppy world.</p>
<p>Back to Wardak Junior in Washington DC; With his dad now in Afghanistan as the Defense Minister, and with his Karzai partners and friends, he was busy running from one pot of gold to another:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>During this period, Hamed Wardak’s Washington DC-based firm, Technologists Inc. (Ti), benefited from several large contracts, some arranged directly with the US Defense Department, others via the Afghan Ministry of Defence. Ti’s website boasts that it was the first Afghan-American firm to be awarded a prime contract by the US government. Its portfolio has been fattened by a cornucopia of construction projects, including border crossing stations and the ANA’s Logistics and Command Headquarters</em><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>, a counter-narcotics “campus” where the US Drug Enforcement Agency and its Afghan counterparts will be based</strong></span></em><em> </em><strong>[Emphasis Added]</strong><em> cell block renovations to Kabul’s huge Pul-i-Charkhi prison, and three industrial parks.</em>”</p></blockquote>
<p>Now recall the hushed voices about our General Wardak’s possible shady connections to heroin and mafia in Afghanistan among the Afghani diaspora in the Washington DC area. Now this same general happens to become the Minister of Defense, while his son runs companies with contracts for services rendered to our very own US Drug Enforcement Agency in Afghanistan, which is supposed to be fighting the heroin trade over there. Could it get more ridiculous and ironic than this?!</p>
<p>Of course it can. As I was working on this piece this New York Times <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/28/world/asia/28intel.html?_r=1&amp;hp">headline</a> popped up on my screen:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>KABUL, <a title="More news and information about Afghanistan." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/afghanistan/index.html?inline=nyt-geo">Afghanistan</a> — <a title="More articles about Ahmed Wali Karzai." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/k/ahmed_wali_karzai/index.html?inline=nyt-per">Ahmed Wali Karzai</a>, the brother of the Afghan president and a suspected player in the country’s booming illegal <a title="More articles about opium." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/subjects/o/opium/index.html?inline=nyt-classifier">opium</a> trade, gets regular payments from the <a title="More articles about the Central Intelligence Agency." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/c/central_intelligence_agency/index.html?inline=nyt-org">Central Intelligence Agency</a>, and has for much of the past eight years, according to current and former American officials.</em></p>
<p><em>The agency pays Mr. Karzai for a variety of services, including helping to recruit an Afghan paramilitary force that operates at the C.I.A.’s direction in and around the southern city of Kandahar, Mr. Karzai’s home. The financial ties and close working relationship between the intelligence agency and Mr. Karzai raise significant questions about America’s war strategy, which is <a title="Times article" href="http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/28/world/asia/28policy.html">currently under review at the White House</a>. </em></p>
<p><em>The ties to Mr. Karzai have created deep divisions within the Obama administration. The critics say the ties complicate America’s increasingly tense relationship with President <a title="More articles about Hamid Karzai." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/k/hamid_karzai/index.html?inline=nyt-per">Hamid Karzai</a>, who has struggled to build sustained popularity among Afghans and has long been portrayed by the <a title="More articles about the Taliban." href="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/t/taliban/index.html?inline=nyt-org">Taliban</a> as an American puppet. The C.I.A.’s practices also suggest that the United States is not doing everything in its power to stamp out the lucrative Afghan drug trade, a major source of revenue for the Taliban.</em></p></blockquote>
<p>I am not going to get side tracked and criticize this NY Times article and its timing. After all, Karzai’s heroin connection and mafia characters have been known for a long time. The New York Times piece is probably timed and written to serve a draft or new operation plan for Afghanistan where we’ll be installing another crook to replace Karzai, but this new crook will be handpicked by this administration and enrich their slate of contractors…</p>
<p>Okay, so now we have Hamed Wardak with his Defense Minister father’s rumored heroin past and present, we have his extremely close ties to the Karzais with their heroin and crime network and connections. In a good and just world this would mean the end of Wardak. But that’s not the kind of world we live in. Hamed and his companies and connections, both in Afghanistan and in the US, are still cashing in; big time.</p>
<p>Here is one of our characters who hasn’t made an appearance for several pages: Milt Bearden, the EX-CIA Rambo in Afghanistan in the 80s, the US media darling on Osama Bin Laden, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Taliban…you name it, the shrewd self promoter with books and movies:</p>
<p>Milt Bearden must have been pretty familiar with our General Wardak since he was on the ground in Afghanistan serving his masters at the CIA and the Whitehouse, including the great advocator of ‘<em>use any means</em>,’ our Godmother of Neocons, Jeane Kirkpatrick. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Cyclone">Operation Cyclone</a> must certainly have brought him in contact with involved Taliban Generals, including our General, Osama Bin Laden, and other key ISI operators, and his dealings must certainly have included the major <a href="http://www.bearcave.com/bookrev/nugan_hand.html">heroin operations</a> tapped into to further fund these ‘<em>freedom fighters.</em>’ In fact, our Spook dealt extensively with <a href="http://www.e-ariana.com/ariana/eariana.nsf/allDocs/2A0EDB87F9159DCC87256C33003B9B8E?OpenDocument">Hekmatyar</a>, who is considered one of the biggest, if not the biggest, Heroin Operator in Afghanistan &#8211; which supplies 90% of the world’s Heroin:</p>
<blockquote><p>“<em>One U.S. official who had considerable dealings with Mr. Hekmatyar was Milt Bearden, who during the Soviet occupation ran the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency&#8217;s covert program in Afghanistan. He says Mr. Hekmatyar struck him as &#8220;quirky and paranoid</em><em>.&#8221;</em>”</p></blockquote>
<p>Thus, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that our Ex-Spook took an interest in our General’s son, and translated this interest into a close business partnership when our young and chubby Hamed Wardak got closer and closer to big Pots of Gold in Washington DC and his father made it to the Defense Minister position in Afghanistan.</p>
<p>After Hamed Wardak left Technologists Inc. to go further in tapping the US Defense Contractor Gold Pots, and to set up various other front businesses in Afghanistan, many of which happen to be in <em>security sectors</em>, he formed a new front organization, Campaign for a US-Afghan Partnership. Guess who he appointed as the top man for the Board of this ambigious organization? That’s right, none other than our ex-spook, media supplier, Milton Bearden. Check out his glowing background listed on Hamed Wardak’s organization’s website: <a href="http://cusap.org/?page_id=251"><strong>click here</strong></a>. What exactly this organization does, no one really knows, which should go as another credit to our Mr. Bearden’s CIA background in keeping things convoluted and secretive.</p>
<p>Rumors from the Ex-CIA community in the DC area point to another highly lucrative Wardak company paid by US tax payers, NCL, in Kabul, and hint that their buddy Milt may have been playing a major role there. Because of Mr. Bearden’s cozy relationships no one in the media has been looking for these deeper engagements and lucrative partnerships between him and Hamed Wardak.</p>
<p>With their intimate relationship and close ties with the Bush Whitehouse, especially Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney’s quarters, the Wardaks and Karzais ran from one pot of gold to another, filled their pockets and probably Swiss accounts, while the conditions kept worsening in Afghanistan, resulting in more civilian deaths and injured, and more US troop casualties there. Then, the Bush-Cheney era came to an end…</p>
<p>If you are holding your breath for our New President to act differently than his predecessor in enriching Wardaks-like carpetbagger war profiteers, go ahead &#8211; inhale and exhale. Hamed Wardak has been a <a href="http://www.campaignmoney.com/political/contributions/hamed-wardak.asp?cycle=08">supporter</a> of both Hillary Clinton and President Obama, who between them received a total of $20,000 from Mr. Wardak in 2008. A naïve out of Washington person would scratch his head and ask ‘<em>With all these ties, close connections and friendship with Bush Neocons such as Rumsfeld and Khalilzad, why the heck would he support and pay the Obama camp?</em>’ Washington circle people would never ask such questions. They know very well how things are, that each establishment-based administration has its own set of neocons, hawks, and war profiteers.</p>
<p>Soon we’ll know who our new administration has in mind to replace Karzai’s regime. Will it be an insider like our General Wardak? Certainly not impossible. He’s been <em>the man</em> for decades, and they’ve invested a lot in him and his son, and enriched him and his family tremendously. Will it be another puppet just like Karzai but with a new face? Certainly possible. That would mean another group of carpetbagger war profiteers entering the market to grab the pots of gold financed by us, while the Karzais and Wardaks go away and enjoy their hundreds of millions of dollars stashed somewhere.</p>
<p>No matter what, with this kind of foundation, nothing will change for us, the ordinary Americans. Our tax dollars will go to the Wardaks or Wardaks-like parasites. Our soldiers will lose arms and legs, or their lives. The Afghani civilians will continue to suffer death, destruction, and chaos. Because the story of the General, his son, a spook, and the Godmother of Neocons, is only one of hundreds out there, and as long as we sit on the sideline, watch, and do nothing, there will be hundreds, or thousands more in this story, albeit with different faces and names.</p>

<p><img style="vertical-align:text-center;float: left; padding: 3px 6px 3px 3px;"src="http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Armitage.png" alt="Armitage" />Now it is official. Former U.S. Secretary of State Richard Armitage is on his way to take over the Chairmanship of the American Turkish Council from Brent Scowcroft.</p>
<p>Richard Perle and Douglas Feith were the first Neocon operatives to <em>officially</em> become lobbyists for Turkish ‘<em>special</em>’ interests in the US in 1989. They set up their lobby firm, <a href="http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=International_Advisors%2C_Inc.">International Advisors, Inc.</a> (IAI) and formally registered as foreign agents for the government of Turkey, while still connected to the Pentagon. Since 1989 other <em>major-league </em>politicians and bureaucrats have joined the list, including Former Speaker of the House, <a href="http://www.reporter.am/go/article/2009-04-17-ex-speaker-hastert-hired-by-turkish-lobby">Dennis Hastert</a>, and Deputy Secretary of State, Marc Grossman.<br />
 </p>
<p>Here are a few excerpts from the brief <a href="http://www.worldbulletin.net/news_detail.php?id=49227">article</a> on this official announcement, which interestingly took place on October 30, over a week ago, but was completely censored, blacked out, by the media.</p>
<p> </p>
<blockquote><p><em>ATC Board of Directors announced with a statement Thursday that it elected Ambassador Armitage to succeed Scowcroft &#8211;who served for 9 years as chairman&#8211; on January 1, 2010.</em></p>
<p><em><br />
The American-Turkish Council thanked General Scowcroft for his personal commitment to a strong U.S.-Turkey relationship and particularly for his highly successful leadership of the ATC.</em></p>
<p><em><br />
ATC said it was looking forward to working with Armitage to strengthen the business, defense, trade and investment, foreign policy and cultural relations between the United States and Turkey.</em></p>
<p><em><br />
Scowcroft and Ambassador Armitage will travel to Turkey November 16-20 for senior-level discussions with Turkey&#8217;s government, military and business leadership.</em></p></blockquote>
<p> </p>
<p>We will have more on this and relevant points soon. Please stay tuned, but meanwhile disseminate this &#8211; let it be known. As you can see, the mainstream media and the lobby-influenced &amp; managed pseudo alternative counterparts don’t want you to notice these things <img src='http://www.boilingfrogspost.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
